Do you want the Panthers to win any more games?

for everyone clamoring for a higher pick to take a qb, here’s a look at the teams in the playoff hunt for this year and a look at where their QB was drafted.   Pretty even mix of high draft picks and late round steals.   NFC is loaded with later round gems, while the afc is top heavy.

New Orleans:  Drew Brees (2nd rounder)

Green Bay:  Aaron Rodgers (late first rounder)

LA Rams:  Jared Goff (first overall pick)

Seattle:  Russell Wilson (third rounder)

Tampa Bay:  Tom Brady (sixth rounder)

Arizona:  Kyler Murray (first overall pick)

Minnesota:  Kirk Cousins (fourth round pick)

Washington:  Alex Smith (first overall pick)

New York Giants:  Daniel Jones (number six pick)

Kansas City:  Patrick Mahomes (top ten pick)

Pittsburgh:  Ben Roethlisberger (top eleven pick)

Tennessee:  Ryan Tannehill (top ten pick)

Indianapolis:  Phillip Rivers (top ten pick)

Las Vegas:  Derek Carr (2nd round pick)

Baltimore:  Lamar Jackson (late first round)

Buffalo:  josh Allen (top ten pick)

Once you are eliminated from the playoffs, then it is all about next season.

I would certainly play my backup QB's and other guys on the roster to see what they are like in live bullet situations.   We had no preseason, so lets start preparing for next season.  If we win, we win, if we lose, we lose.  Just don't see what the moral victories in beating a team like Denver, who is also going nowhere, means.

i mean guys for real beating the broncos is more a coaching evaluation than anything

they should curb stomp this team

Denver’s defense is pretty good and they have a solid running game. Their biggest issue is their QB is young and makes a lot of mistakes. Considering how bad the Panthers defense is I think Lock looks good today. Bridgewater’s stock is trending down hard and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him struggle again against a good defense.

Unless Lock throws multiple INTs and Denver makes as many mistakes as the Chargers did back in Week 3, I think they win today.

I obviously wouldn’t be mad if the team went out and destroyed the Broncos, I just don’t see it happening. It was encouraging to see the Panthers treat the Chiefs game as their Super Bowl and pull out all the stops to win. Fun game to watch. But all these close losses have to be crushing team morale - how many demoralizing losses can a young overmatched team take before they just collapse? That might be the coaching answer you might be looking for, keeping the guys positive despite how painful this season has been at times.

Yes... Unless your 1 or 2 in the draft, I don't think position matters that much.  After that, the next 10 to 15 picks can be pretty much equivalent depending on what you need.  I'm in the camp that we should install a winning culture, which translates into getting as  many wins as you can. Also, it would be good to finish the season strong so we can carry the positive vibs into next year.

Does anyone else think maybe the Panthers are trying to lose?

I mean, if you keep playing Teddy Bridgewater, you are obviously not trying to win. He is getting worse by the snap. And the defense is getting personal fouls that are totally avoidable.

I gotta think at this point they aren’t trying.

I am now convinced the Panthers are trying to lose. The fact the Panthers ran a route tree with receivers that didn’t even run to the 1st down marker and Bridgewater again throws a short pass is what we’ve seen all season. Loser football sponsored by losers.

I believe were at the #6 draft pick after the Cowboys won now. Moving on up.
