Is Zach Wilson becoming the consensus Huddle pick?

Indiana only played 7 games but led the NCAA in interceptions. One of the best secondaries in the NCAA. That being said at least one of those picks was a terrible decision by Fields.

100% there was one he has to completely own and a second that’s half on him and the receiver. In this second game the receiver ran away from his route at the last second and the other was an Odell catch by the DB.

If we remain at our present draft spot I want to select QB Zach Wilson if he is still on the board. After starting 18 games in 2018 and 2019 combined with adequate production,

he has been outstanding in 2020 in the new-school way of playing the quarterback position: pocket-passing brilliance coupled with incredible improvisation, off-script throws from awkward foundations downfield and creative weaves through traffic as a scrambler.

He's completed 73.1% of his passes at 10.9 yards per attempt in an Cougar offense that loves to attack vertically. Wilson's tossed 30 touchdowns to just three picks and has eight rushing scores on his resume. What's not to like?

It’s not hard to like him. The issue is they have like the second best defense in the country, give up some of the fewest sacks in the country and play little to no competition. He’s not been put under a real microscope or faced major adversity. There’s no real pressure situations in 2020 for them.

Run down and take Wilson if he is there. I see Aaron Rogers in him. The guys on the NFL Sirius XM channel said two NFL scouts see Mahomes in him. If I can get a guy with those comparisons then I'm running to the podium.

And for God's sake, tank these last two games. If our drafting continues to hit like last year, we are close to being a long time playoff team

I like all four of the top QBs. I think Brady and Rhule could do well with any of them. I think Lance has more physical skill than Wilson. Wilson seems a little slight to me at 210.

He is only a 47 % passer. Huge red flag to me. Cam Newton part 2 so he's a great athlete and only a solid qb. Ill pass

highlights and alll, you just watch and see what you feels. fyi he had 42 total TDs and no INTs. If he was playing right now, hed get plenty of top 3 talk.

This year has made super nostalgic for when we had Cam before Rivera mismanaged and wrecked his shoulder.

I've not watched Lance, but I have Wilson and I personally think he's a slightly better Will Grier.

Will Grier demolished the Big 12 (I'm a WVU fan and watched him play- although I didn't like drafting him last year b/c I thought we should have spent on other needs), but I think it became apparent last year that the lack of defense being played in the Big 12 did him no favors in the NFL.

I personally see the same issue with Wilson, but I'm no NFL scout.

You can't teach arm strength, especially when the QB has to make "off-platform" throws.  Teddy has the functional strength to push the ball down the field when he can set, but he's not throwing 50 yarders on the run like Mahomes, Rodgers, Wilson, Herbert, Josh Allen, etc.

It's just puts so much more pressure on the defense.

Wilson to me looks like the most polished pocket passer outside of Lawrence, but again, so did Grier.  There were many people (Mel Kiper included) who thought Grier was a better prospect than Daniel Jones.

My biggest concern with Wilson is much like Grier, his ability to make "off-schedule" plays.

Most guys going at the top of the draft are going to teams with unsettled offensive lines.  Cam would not have been able to make it here his first few seasons without his improvisation ability (he still got hit an insane amount).

I just think that in the current NFL, the younger guys having the most success are the guys with mobility and big arms, even if their pocket mechanics are not always textbook.

A good coach can teach a lot of things.  Arm strength and mobility aren't it.

There's a reason why Mel Kiper has always talked about the draft on ESPN instead of being in an NFL war room.

Dilfer says he turns on the film and he’s watching Fields get not just to his second read but his third. Said the gap between Fields and Lawrence isn’t that large and thinks both are franchise guys. Said in Northwestern he played awful on TV but turned on the film and saw him making proper corrections and said he has actually been shown more passing concepts than any QB in this draft. Said Lawrence should still be the first off the board but once nfl scouts watch the film ( because right now it’s just TV guys ) the gap between Fields and Lawrence will lessen.

The highlights showed me that Lance is a running QB that can pass on occasion. I am not sure his game would transpose in the NFL as good as Zach Wilsons, who seems to have a more complete game.

So youd didnt see the NFL throws or arm talent?? Or his throws on move? its 10 min vid, other full games are on youtube. If his arm doesnt impress, guess wed need a time machine to go get Herbert.
