You described a stop gap.

Not really. Not too many stopgaps can coach a team to 15-1 and a SB and have other highly successful seasons. If Teddy has an MVP season along with a bunch of other bad seasons then maybe your comparison could hold up, but as is it just doesn’t and it’s kind of ridiculous for him to even come to mind in this thread.

Coach Ron has taken scraps to a better record than wonderboy Rhule and his pet Snowjob.  Heh

The Washington football team has wins over Dallas, Dallas, Philly, Cincinnati and now the Steelers. One great win and four against the worst teams in football. Relax. I also wouldn’t refer to their squad as scraps considering the defensive talent on that team. But if you’re looking to just make a dramatic hot take in the moment despite it being poor... well played.

Well they are gonna beat the crap outta us. That defense is gonna make Teddy wish he'd stayed home.

Cam really was not all that amazing in 2013 or 2017. He was slightly above average those years but was hardly the only reason we were good. 2013 our elite D carried the team and Rivera deserves plenty of credit for that season. 2017 was an all around solid team for the most part. 2015 you can give Cam more credit for, absolutely. But even with an elite QB a coach has to be pretty damn good in a year to win 15 games and go to the SB. We’ve seen plenty of elite QB seasons not result in anywhere near that much success. I get it, we were all completely sick of Rivera here. But he deserves some credit for his successful seasons. It’s just a shame there were so few and he was inconsistent and couldn’t win the big prize even in his better seasons.

I agree with this post entirely besides the bit about 2017. He was much better than the stats indicated that year and our team was not all-around solid. Secondary was putrid, O-line wasnt very good, literal practice squad fodder WRs and Stewart was still decent but starting to slow down. That team was just our high end talent carrying us for most of the year and I think that's where the "Ron coasted on big name talent!!" narrative comes from.

I mean Cam pretty much drug us to a huge win over the Vikings who were at that point vying for the first seed in the NFC and near singlehandedly beat the Saints in January. He was inconsistent but overall that was probably one of his best years. Quite honestly this year's rendition of the Seahawks remind me a lot of that team. High end talent without much around them.

Keep living in the past, I guess. Lots of y'all were touting Teddy's record as a starter when we signed him.

Yours isn’t very good.
