This. The NFL will (and did) reschedule the Ravens-Steelers game 3 different times due to COVID, but forced the QB-less Broncos to play the Saints. Competitive parity. Sure thing.

The NFL will never admit it, but I absolutely believe that the fact that the Ravens/Steelers involved two contenders who are division rivals played a significant role in their handling of that situation. Versus the Saints/Broncos involving one in impacted contender facing a non-conference non-contender.

Conspiracy theorists always flock to stupid things like vaccines or other ignorant stuff. Don't they realize the NFL has the most plausible conspiracies around?

The story making the rounds among my many Broncos fan friends out here is that the NFL was punishing/making an example of the team because the QB room just sort of blew off the rules.

I mean... yeah.

It made sense to play the game. They only had 3 players that were Covid risks. It's their own fault they didn't keep them separated. They had enough players to field the team, they were just super lax with the Covid protocols. Should have been better.

All we heard about the NCAA schedule this past weekend was how Ohio State had to play their game without 23 guys on the roster. But nobody bother to mention there are about 120 guys on the roster.

Turn the tables- would the NFL have done the same with Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Tampa Bay or ...?

What about that whole "player safety" we hear about every year? How does putting a practice squad WR or RB in as the starting QB fit that narrative? Show us all the helmet technology commercials and robotic tackling dummy ads you want, but basically forcing a team to pull some guy out of the stands to get maimed shows me more than the commercials.

I'm sure there's some truth to that, but I seriously doubt the NFL would've taken the same approach with a contender.
