Cam is done as a passer

When his team scores 45 points but he only passes for 69 yards!  Sure he is still a threat as a runner in the red zone, but he seems to be laboring completing any passes more than 5 yards. It’s sad to see, I really wanted him to light it up with the Patriots but he is regressing badly.

two sides to the coin.  Yeah, he isn't what he was.  That is true.  But the fact NE's weapons are so comically weak....even a great passer would be struggling in NE right now getting it done.

Cam probably breaks his own rushing TD record given the style of football NE is playing though.

Yeah he has that going for him.  He should break it and retire.

yeah, I think him playing after this year only hurts his legacy and will be pointless abuse on his body.   I think he will probably struggle to get a deal again too.  I mean he would still be better than a lot of guys teams pay to be on a roster.    But no one is really looking for an aging QB who can truck someone.

he was always going to have a shorter career than a less physical traditional QB.  No shame in that.  Panther GOAT.  I think he will own the NFL record book for a long time for his rushing feats.

Cam holds a world record for CATCHING footballs. He understands routes from a QB's perspective. He is massively big on the field and can compete athletically with anyone in the league. He is fast and he is also quick. He has a competitive, winner's mentality.

His arm may well be shot, but can you imagine converting Cam Newton into a slot receiver? He could easily get five to six more years in his career, be an incredibly valuable team member and still be a star player putting his charisma to work for the team (and his own branding).

Would be interesting but athleticism only gets you so far, and even aside from the shoulder his has been in decline. Very very few players in league history who have switched positions mid or late career have actually succeeded at it. Each position has so many nuances and things you have to learn to even be a #4 in the league and to start from scratch at Cam's age is not a recipe for success. If he worked at it, I wouldn't rule it out but it could take years for him to even get up to speed to contribute in a small role, if he could even accomplish that... Highly doubt it happens but if it did I would root for him (if it's not in NE or other NFCS teams)

I think Cam could make a move to TE in all honestly.    If he wanted.    Doubt he would want to do that.

But he is a way better athlete than an Antonio Gates.  Athletic ability, size and just being an athlete is pretty much all he needed to walk on a NFL field and be a GOAT.    Not saying he would be a GOAT.  One year of practice and Cam probably would be better than any TE on our roster today.
