Well I didn't explain my point well. You're allowing what we know now to color what wasn't so obvious at the time. Half the people here were saying just months ago that Burns was a wasted pick and will never be a competent 4-3 DE. If he turned out that way, they would have said "The Panthers are so mind numblingly incompetent! This is why you don't draft tweeners, especially out of FSU. When have they ever had success in the NFL? I and anyone with half a brain have been saying that from the very beginning." And that person would've had just as much right to espouse their superior understanding of football as you do now. 

I'm only saying, it's not as obvious of a decision as you make it out to be. Kudos to you that a gamble you predicted wouldn't work out, didn't. Unfortunately that's the very nature of a gamble.

I'll admit, I'm probably just a bit ornery reading the same tired retreads about Teddy. I do apologize if I come off snappy.

It's all good. It's just that no one should be surprised. There was plenty of film on Teddy. He is who he's always been.
