You would've had a chance to re-sign him with a new staff or you could've traded him. The players evidently love Rhule. Seems that people forget that early indications were that we were prioritizing re-signing Bradberry, but early in negotiations our numbers were way far apart and we never revisited. We instead gave a pile of money in a fairly average starting LB.

I mean, players loved Rivera too by all accounts. Franchise tagging him in hopes that he would’ve changed his mind when he reportedly didn’t want to play here seems like a pretty naive move for a GM to make. Rhule was already hired a couple months before Bradberry left anyways...if he was inspired by the Rhule hiring then he had ample time to return to the table in negotiations.

Don't you see that Bradberry was supposed to fall head over heels in love with Rhule long before any chance to meet him?

It's as if some of you guys have the football fan version of Stockholm Syndrome. You've become so accustomed to watching this organization make idiotic decisions that you feel compelled to convince yourselves that they were actually the correct decisions all along. That overall losing franchise record must just be fake news.

Huh? Try to focus here...we’re talking about the very specific decision of franchise tagging Bradberry. The empty platitudes don’t add anything of value.

It’s as if some people are so caught up in their disdain towards the organization that it has completely neutered their ability to evaluate individual moves. Instead, they appeal to broad vague negative sentiments like “Hurney sux bro!!! Wake up sheep!”.

I love the most ardent, vocal crowd of the  “clear cap space, acquire compensatory picks, and tank the season” platform all of a sudden trying to convince themselves we should have franchise-tagged Bradberry all along...when it directly contradicts their entire strategy.

I do know Bradberry doesnt "fit" what Rhule/DB/DC want in a CB. They want speed guy with track backgrounds. Early in the FA process they heavily targeted Trae Waynes. In the draft they picked Pride and STO, so they have a type and are trying to find them.

Most team have numbers theyre willing to pay and for some its firm. Im not a fan of paying him 15 per either, I did want to tag for 13 tho. I defended Bradberry here plenty and most here hated him.
