No. Most people judge GMs on wins and playoffs. Where Marty had a 98-110 record and made the playoffs 3 out of 13 years. It’s called builders an entire roster.

And the Panthers played in ONE SB under Marty.

Loomis took over a 13-3 team and has made 6 playoff appearances

Hurney took over a 1-15 team and has made 7 playoff appearances

Do you have dementia?

The Panthers went to the playoffs 4 times in 5 years with rosters built by someone else. They went 3 times in the 13 years Marty built it.

Rhule is not the same type of coach as Fox/Rivera. Hurney gets the players his coaches want. For example Rivera wanted to run a 3-4, Hurney got the players for the system.

Sure. He got a group of DTs that have never played 5 tech in a 3-4 in their careers. And it resulted in the worst rushing defense in 35 years of NFL football by one analytic site. And 2 Nd worst overall last year. Bravo Marty.

Dude it’s a really easy argument to make against this guy...all you have to say is that Fox and Rivera actually were the ones with 100% control of the roster and drafts in all those other seasons, just like Rhule does this year. He’s already established that this isn’t a fact-based argument so just say whatever you want...easiest debate ever.

Look at 2020 draft.  Most of these players we have are fast athletic players.  Something Rhule said he wanted for this team.  Fast Athletic.

Notice that there weren't really any head scratching picks.  Some obscure O-linemen out of DFU State that no one has heard of.  Hurney is know for trying to outsmart other teams by selecting that "hidden gem" and it turns out to be just another clump of dirt.

Do you realize how close we were to becoming the NYJ of the NFL?  Imagine Hurney finding a trade partner so he could move up in the draft and draft Jimmy Clausen.  We lose the 2011 1st round pick for a scrub QB.  Cam's in another time zone and we don't sniff the playoffs in years.

Don't forget Everett Brown.  Another lost pick.  He gave away a valuable pick for a tweener.

He consistently over values players.  Trades up to get them and THEY SUCK.

Little is another pick.

Probably worst thing of all is he ruined Cam.  Not one decent O-linemen outside of Kalil and he was picked before Cam got here.

Do you remember when we hired Dave Gettleman? Do you remember the one year contracts he gave Mitchell and so many others because of the cap hell Hurney put us in.  Guess what... Where right back where we were when they dumped his ass in 2013.

There is no way anyone can justify keeping him.  Each year he's back the further behind we get.

It was Hurney’s draft.

On paper yes. but we know who was making those call.  Hurney delivered the draft card that's about it.

And the rest of it?  Not much to say about that huh?

I'm starting to believe you are just trolling.

Rhule wanted to trade down, but Hurney overruled him and selected Brown. Sources say this is what happened on draft night. If it was a bad draft, you’d blame Hurney.

First, I believe we have to get rid of Hurney.  It's nothing personal but the guy continually drafts poorly.  Makes terrible decision on retaining players.  Letting the good ones walk and overpaying players on the downside of their careers.

So we fire Hurney.  Who's the best options and how do we become a great franchise?

It's been fixed --- Hurney doesn't have sole discretion over anything of importance.

Hurndog ain't going anywhere, Tepper values him as an information source.

Didn't happen.  Decision making in Tepper's world does not take place in the manner you describe....

Yeah sure.  Those players outside of Brown were not Hurney.

Believe what you want.

There is zero chance Tepper is sitting back and letting Hurndog make whatever calls he chooses...

...it's a collective process and Tepper-Rhule-Hurney get to the decisions together.

That's how it works in Tepper's world.

I could agree with that but you can bet your ass that Rhule's input has much more impact that Hurney.

Rhule has certain traits he wants on this team. Each player we selected early on met those traits.
