We're gnashing our teeth about the idea of paying a legit top player at a premium position $15M or so a year while Teddy Bridgewater is signed to a $21M a year contract?

L-O-fuging-L

What bad franchises do. Everything was pointing the right direction, except that slime little you know what sticking around through firings and two owners.

Im guessing we are keeping KK? Seems like we could easily just cut him and give the money to Moton??? Does this not go through their heads?

Hurney loves his over the hill vets. Probably keep KK and re-sign Okung.

If we don't move on from Hurney this off-season all hope is lost.

No seriously I think we are. PFF is stating we want to resign Okung for some reason. I know he's okay when healthy, but he's never healthy, super old and not invested. No other team would sign an extension for Okung over Moton. Makes no sense!

If we don't boot Hurney's ass, these are the type of dumbass decisions he makes. The guy probably has to toggle coach firing off on Madden franchise mode to keep from getting fired on a fuging video game.

I suspect the dwindling salary cap will be the biggest factor for us when signing any FA, restricted or otherwise. The cap is projected to go from 198.2M to 176M. That is huge. It’s not just us, I suspect that there will be great FAs available well into preseason or early season next year. Everyone will have to trim their roster.

I get the Hurney hate but this is the first time since 2011 that the Cap has shrunk and it was during a lockout. All contracts are written with an expanding cap in mind. How can you manage that. I mean the Saints are now projected to be 93M over the cap. <- Holy Poo. Even if Brees retires they will have to part with some of their top talent to make the limit.

There are 13 teams that would already be over the cap based on players already under contract.

Oh, that's the least of it. Whitehead's veteran leadership is invaluable. Gotta re-sign him. Mike Davis paired with CMC will be even better than the original Double Trouble. Remember, he's a starting caliber RB. Yep, pay that man.

Also extend Bridgewater 6 more years worth 500 million. Because he is a nice guy and a great leader.

If that ain't the truth. Ron Rivera was an absolute joke of a football coach that wouldn't have made it three years at the helm without Cam and Luke. The Hornets actually currently have a coach that prioritizes player development, they just navigated a top three pick perfectly, and I actually think the Hayward deal could look much better in a year or two. People just like dunking on MJ. I think Matt Rhule is actually a good coach, but again, as long as Hurney is in charge I truly think I feel better about the future of the Hornets right now.

Hayward deal was another Jordan move and arguably just as bad of a contract as Batum. There was no need to make that kind of move. How is it going to help us besides maybe getting an 8th seed in a superstar driven league and taking us out of the lottery? And his awful injury history? Its even obvious to average fans now, they are finally catching on. I just pray we hit in the draft one day. Thats the Hornets only chance. Get Hurney and Jordan out!

Yes I know. How in the hell can the Saints get under the Cap next year? There should be a reality based tv show following Loomis around while he is begging players to restructure. The Eagles are in trouble too!

Will you people stop losing your minds off pure speculation from Joe Person? I genuinely can't imagine we don't franchise tag Moton at minimum. If there aren't active discussions, it's probably because Moton's agent isn't acting in good faith and refuses to consider any offer less than $20 million per year or something like that. If that's the case and you're Hurney, what do you do? Offer him that? No, you turf it to the offseason and place the franchise tag if they don't budge.
