I think the Tigers would be well served to look at the same route the basketball team recently took with Bruce Pearl. He was a guy who had all kinds of NCAA troubles, rehabilitated his career and now has the Auburn basketball team in a better place than it's ever been. There's a guy we could look at it with a very similar back story.

  Personally, I have no interests in retreads. But Freeze has merit. Not the direction I would go, but it’s better than the status quo.

  The problem at AU is the huge buyouts on Malzahn and other coaches. Around 25M. I would be happy to have either one over being stuck in neutral another year.

Speaking of Malzahn, I thought that guy was gonna be the TRUTH when he took Auburn to the national championship game in his first season. That team had no business anywhere near that game and they damn near won it. Did he just get figured out or what? I don't follow Auburn at all other than when they happen to be at the top of the heap.

  Figured out, inability to evolve offense, losing games from the sidelines. Against lesser talent, it can still be very good. But after 8 years, he’s 0-12 on the road against bama, GA, and LSU. Now recruiting is in shambles and his lack of recruiting quality OL is a major problem. 
 

   And he has ruined Bo Nix. Something I knew would happen.

Clemson Alumni here. The only coach on that staff I’d hire for the NFL is Venables and that includes Dabo. Clemson has so much talent all over the field, that’s why we win games. Dabo is a great recruiter and motivator, but nothing Clemson does is anything special from a scheme perspective, just have the better talent on the field.

one Clempson coach to keep an eye on is DC Brent Venables. He will be the HC at UNC once Mack retires, pending, or course, he does not take over for Dabum once he leaves for Bama.

Yeah, Dabo wouldn't translate well to the NFL at all. He's a college coach through and through. Nothing wrong with that though, he's damn good at that. He can recruit like hell and that's the majority of the battle in the college game. When you have 4 and 5 star recruits at every position you don't have to out-scheme anybody. Just line up and be better than them.
