Yes. Draft a QB from college and that's a 50/50 chance he clicks with the team. Or he gets benched like Tua. When in a rebuild, I dont like those odds. Pj walker is RIGHT THERE and makes all the sense in the world. Besides, we need a linebacker, not a QB.

PJ Walker is not going to be our long term answer at the position. On top of that, Tua only sat because he’s hurt.

If he can move into the bottom of the first Kyle Trask needs to get a serious look.

You can't teach 6'5" 240lbs. That's an NFL body out the gate. Everything else you can refine.

2,810yrds   34TDs   3ints    93.4 qbr

Heisman candidate

He doesn't have much as far as a modern NFL toolkit. He has more the look of a career 2nd or 3rd string NFL guy. Don't get too attached to college production/accolades as a means to evaluate NFL talent. You need to see NFL attributes and skills, as well.

We will win at least 6 or 7 games next year and be picking in the teens! Howell won't end up here!

Agreed.  So if we have seen enough to know Bridgewater is not the solution, we need to get one this season.   I like all of the top 4 QBs.  I am not sure about Trask--I see him as the first round bust.

I would love to focus on LT, MLB, CB, C in this draft, but if we have to move up to get the QB--say from pick #10 to #6, we may have to do it.  I just do not see us leaving this draft without a QB.

You could argue that Teddy is a manager and has not bee that bad, but nothing is guaranteed for year 3.  In theory, next season could be Teddy's last here, and that is why we need a QB to groom in this draft.  Unfortunately, thanks to suckage at the QB position in Philly, NYJ, Jax, Chicago, and San Francisco, we are in competition with some teams who will be either picking before us or looking to move up.

So we can assume that Jax and NYJ have all but claimed the top two picks.  (Fields, Lawrence gone).

Cincy is likley to be the #3 pick--they take Sewell unless they are stupid.

So there are 2 QBs that will go somewhere in the 4-8 range, if you ask me.  Well?  Ask me.

Plan B is a huge gamble that requires patience.  You could wait until the third round and grab Jamie Newman, former Wake qb UGA transfer who was projected to start and be an early draft pick.  Develop him behind Teddy for a season or even two.  I do not like it, but he reminds me of a poor man's Cam Newton.

Yeah you need a QB this draft for Teddy to mentor and then when can cut Teddy the following year and save a lot of cap space.

I would love Spencer Rattler, but you're correct. Tepper is quite patient, way more patient than other Owners. But, you need a QB to groom next year under Bridgewater. Wilson is probably the answer. I would be okay with Lance as well.

Would be nice! Offseason would need to be dedicated to offensive line as Trask definitely needs one.

I am telling you--and QBs from this school scare me--but Mac Jones is rising.  He has a stud OL and the best WRs I have ever seen one one team, and a strong running game behind him, but he is completing nearly 80% (76.2%) of his passes vs. SEC opponents.  He has 23 TDs vs 3 Ints.  He is 6-3, 215.  Not the greatest arm, but is deadly on timing routes--with our WRs, he could be a good fit.

Trask is the same way.  He has 30 TDs and 3 ints. and completes 70%.

I see 6 first round QBs this draft--
