So what will Tepper's expectations be next season?

If we go defense in the first two rounds(Parsons, CB),  and add some talent on that side of the ball via free agency, then i think a playoff run would be the expectation. This offense should be able to win games with a better defense.

If we go with a QB in the first then, flirting with a winning record/wild card would be what i expect while the kid sits and defense fills out

The 2021 team will still be a long way away. Tepper is getting teased like other fans this season, but Rhule needs another full year before this team is stable. Panthers have no busniess being in all the games this season and need about 30 players come 2021.

Are you sure? This season he has a 67 completion percentage. 4 Passing TDs, 9 INTs and a QB rating of 79.8.

Obviously he's quite a bit of damage rushing (387 yards, 9 TDs, 2 Fumbles), but even combined, that's 13 TD's and 11 Turnovers.

Have you watched a New England game? Damiere Byrd. Yea that one, is by FAR their best WR. Put Cam on TB and it's video game numbers

This.  We have been in almost every game, even those where, on paper, we should have been running out the clock and running toward the exists after the first 20 minutes.  I'll take the competitiveness we have shown this year.

But, we just don't have the horses.  We have some good DL talent, and we have put together a good WR corps, but the rest?  The youth in the secondary could develop, but we are a long way away from a good roster. We need another good draft and perhaps a few judicious FA signings, plus another good offseason after that.

Our saving grace could be the rest of the division may "have some 'splainin' to do."  Atlanta is going to have some tough choices to make.  Depending on what shakes out with the cap, they could be $25M over.  The Saints numbers look like the national debt, with about $90M over the cap.  Only Tampa has money to burn, but they better hope Brady wants another year.

This is a multi-year rebuild and Teppers answers in interviews makes me believe he knows it. I don’t expect the playoffs but I do expect a better record.
That is why I am so adamant about getting a QB this draft. Because we may not be in position to get a QB after this draft. Plus the unknown of not knowing if the draft in 2022 or 2023 is gonna have any QB prospects worth trading up. Either that or resign Bathwater. Yuck.

We should draft a QB if there is a great one where we draft. I am.not a big fan of trading up in the first round because it costs so much and often doesn't result in a much better player. But if there is a quality guy in the first 3 rounds then why not. If he turns out to be  your franchise QB it will be low risk and high reward. Hurney is money in the first. If he picks a QB hopefully it turns out like it did with Cam.

But there are numerous examples of franchise QBs found outside of the top 20.picks so the notion that we won't be able to draft a QB at any time is quite overblown.

If he keeps Hurney in the building, like he has already done, you know what his expectation is...to make money.

He has proven to me that he doesn't care about the fans of this team, nor winning.

Hopefully that changes, but not likely.

Damn, actions speak louder than words don't they.

I think he was preoccupied with putting his "stamp" on the team, whatever that is.

Yes I have. Outside of Carolina, I've spent more time watching the Patriots / Cam than any other team. Cam's issues passing go beyond the lack of offensive talent in New England right now. He has looked good at times, and he has looked downright awful in other times.

And for the record, I'm watching with the hopes to see him succeed. And I still do want to see him do well, despite being on the Patriots.
