Update: Moore's injury might not have been as bad as it looked

I was nervous as hell but the longer it went on we didn't hear anything the better I felt. Achilles (my biggest initial fear) are pretty much instant diagnosis with the only caveat being the severity you can see from an MRI.

The only news we had was Newtons report of an ankle injury.

When nothing came out for hours I went and rewatched the play slowed down to .25 speed and you can clearly see the ankle roll as he stops to adjust. The replays never showed that because both angles the broadcast showed began with DJ already in the air where hes pulling the leg up and then grabs at it.

I felt a lot better it wasn't that awful career threatening injury I was afraid of and more cautiously optimistic it was a high ankle sprain.

May not even be that now. I love hearing Xrays instead of MRIs. Music to my ears.

I know it looked horrible. Pretty much all of us watching were saying he was done.

If he doesn't even miss a game, hallelujah to that.

Did the injury really look "horrible" to you? Granted, I haven't watched it since it was live but it didn't look like much to me at all. His reaction looked bad but nothing about his leg looked really bad on the field...

Not just me. If you look back at the game thread, everybody was saying that he was done for the season.

Non-contact injuries scare me, and I'm not the only one.

People overreacting in the game thread is not very indicative... The injury didn't look bad, I can't imagine why anyone would say it did. Non-contact injuries scare me as well and his reaction looked bad but when he came down on that leg, nothing about it looked awkward or like he was injured on that play, except for the pain he was in after. I just watched it again actually and it reinforced my initial thoughts.

Achilles wouldn't show up on an Xray

If they were worried about it being an achilles they'd be doing an MRI not an x-ray, and it would've probably been known by now if it was a severe injury like an achilles.

Yup...
