Robby Anderson was not the best signing of the offseason

Hurney did a good job snagging this one, unfortunately he did a piss poor job in the 19 draft as he did in the 11 draft, as he consistently gets 1-2 decent FAs and hamstrings the team long term with poo cap management handing out contracts as well as churning existing ones to guaranteed money like the parting gift he gave to Jake back in the day. Some say that was more of the owner, but the one constant of mediocrity in the org has always been Hurney, if/when he is gone I, for one, will celebrate.

Kerr's probably a short term guy, similar to Kyle Love.

But I agree, he's been good.

Made that comparison myself--prolly where you stole it!  (kidding) Love stayed here about what, 4 seasons?  Kept getting those 1-year deals.

I agree that they both were older guys are cheaper deals, but that comparison isn't really fair to Kerr.  PFF has him as a top 15 player, I don't think Love was ever anywhere close to that, and honestly the eye test back that up also.

Problem is fans tend to have bias towards their own players based on their pedigree, "Kerr is a journeyman on a cheap deal, he can't possible be that good".  Take the names and numbers off of the jerseys and watch the coaches tape, he was a heck of a signing.

Wouldn't' surprise me at all if they didn't add a year on to his contract and give him a raise, he has definitely out played it.  We could draft a 1T this year and let him develop and rotate with Kerr for 2 more years.  Along with Brown, Roy, and Efe that is a pretty good DT group at a really cheap cost.

I think Kerr has been magnificent. However, Robbie Anderson changes how other teams play defense against us. It may not happen this year, but if we ever get Robbie, DJ Moore, CMC, Samuel, and a solid pass catching TE all on the same page, their chemistry set, and healthy this offense will be in the top 3 in the NFL. Now how can we keep Samuel moving forward? I am not taking anything away from Kerr, Zach is a seven year veteran and deserves a payday, he has been a force on mediocre defense that is gaining momentum. I love what he is teaching the other DT's as well. Robbie's signing is bigger because of how it affects the game. The same may be said of Kerr once we have enough complimentary pieces to allow him and Brown to shine and force other teams to change their protections because of them, you can't double team them all. I think we are a solid CB, FS, and Mike or Will away. Once we can cover the pass for longer than 4 seconds, it will be nite nite for the other teams (IF WE RUSH 4, got damn it).
