Problem is, this is a terrible LT class.

 

This is like the 2019 crop.  A bunch of solid rd 2 RT guys.  The only guy worth a top 15 pick is Sewell but will be gone by pick 3

Miller is a JAG but he's the best of the JAG's we have at guard. I don't have a problem bringing him back on another 1 year so that is just one less hole we have to fill in the short term. Obviously we need to upgrade from him in the long term. 

If we do indeed let Moton go and Okung doesn't return, we are going to be in a very tough spot next season. It will absolutely become a critical need and it would legitimately put a lot more stress on our offseason moves and draft picks. The big concern I have with the list that Person has(if it is at all accurate) is that we will go going through the same kind of offseason that we did last offseason, with many, many, many more needs to fill than we can reasonably accomplish. 

It's difficult to ever pull out of the talent deficiency if you are constantly having to find the bulk of your starters every season. 

Yep.  It's at least interesting to see how we move forward with the line.  It makes me nervous how slim pickings the vet market will be if we don't indeed bring Taylor back.

People pounding the table for o-line while also saying they wouldn't sign Okung at vet minimum lol.  Even if he only plays a third of the season, that's a steal.

Vet minimum signings aren't supposed to provide long-term stability.  They are stop-gaps to buy you some time for that long-term solution.  It's very low risk, very high reward.

My bad I didnt think I would have to point out that he has only played in 5 and half games.

5.5 games of solid to borderline elite LT play for vet minimum?  You kidding me?  How can you scoff at that as a Panthers fan, considering the trash we've had to trot out at LT for the past several years.

And for 5.5 of 12 games we had competent LT play for the first time since 2013.

Reminds me of Dan Morgan.

As I recall, they wound up signing him to a contract where he basically had to earn a check game by game.

He didn't end up earning very many.

If we could ever get a guy to sign that kind of contract, I'd be in. I want to bring him back anyway, especially if we have a rookie OT that we draft. Perfect scenario.

I have a hard time getting on board with the idea of putting ourselves in position to rely on a guy that we know we can't rely on.

If you want him as a backup or a mentor, I can see that but would he accept that role? Okung seems like a pretty proud guy.
