Curtis Samuel's projected:   6.5 Million, projecting could go if he goes AT market value.  3 years 19.6 million.  IF multiple teams want him, this will only go up.    Are we willing to give Samuel 7-8 mil a year?  He's having a good season, but injury past combined with 3 years of nothing and 1 year of productivity.  Are we giving him that $$.  Also keep in mind,  Robby Anderson is going into his last year of his deal. also Moore's deal is quietly coming up.  Don't think you sign Samuel for that much AND sign resign both of the other 2 guys

I'd sign Samuel for 3 years, $20M without a doubt. He's been nothing but reliable for us this season, and I blame coaching for not knowing how to use him for his lackluster first 3 years. I agree that it'll be hard to keep all 3 past 2021.

Person believes Short has played his last snap as a Panther.

You'd have to think.

We physically couldn't resign Moton, Samuel, and our draft picks alone.  Not including the other FA's hole on that list.

Samuel in Brady's offense is definitely a different player than Samuel in another offense.

It is worth asking though: Will next year's offense still belong to Brady?

Its not going to be more

In fact, most are projecting it to go down after this year.  So id say 175 is a good rough estimate, because if it does go up, its only going to be by 1-2 mil.

My guess is it is going to be much more.  Like 10 - 15 million at least.  The NFL will set a floor even if the revenue share does not get to that number.  Otherwise you have what I was talking about earlier and some teams won't be able to put a NFL product on the field.

People dont realize how big a hit they took in revenue.  Ill be absolutely shocked if it goes up 10 mil, thats about the yearly avg increase in a regular year.  It'll stay around the same at best.

I definitely wouldn't compare Jeremiah and Hurney. Jeremiah has legitimate scouting chops.

Anyone is better than Hurney.  And yes Jeremiah is light years better.  Still middle of the pack among draft knit guys.

I am not saying the cap will go up by 10 or 15 million, I am saying it won't be 175 million.  It will be at least 10 or 15 million higher than that.  So 185 -190 million.  That way the teams that are way over can still be somewhat competative and not have to cut half their roster to get down to 175 million.  The NFL will put a floor on the cap that is there even if the revenue split does not justify it.

Rhule was very high on Samuel from day 1, and said from the start that he'd get touches running between tackles. I think as long as Rhule's here, Samuel will be used more as the hybrid he was in college.

Think they have a idea of where its going.  Dont think itll be that high.

And spotrac isnt the only one projecting 175.  CBS, PFF, etc are all projecting the same thing.

That is exactly what I said here:

A couple of things about the cap number you got from Spotrac, they are basing all the cap room on a 175 million cap for 2021.  They have been using numbers that came out before the year started and OTC have been using them as well.  They have nothing else to go on so I understand why they are doing it but I don't know that those will be the correct numbers when the cap is finally set for 2021.

First it's a 25 million reduction from 2020 and there are a few teams, I am looking at you Saints and Falcons,  they may not be able to get down to that level and still field a competitive team.  For example the Saints would be more than 80 million over the cap, yes 80, going into the offseason.  I don't know if they could actually cut enough guys and not have soooo much dead money that the team they would field would be anything more than like 20 NFL plays and 30 UDFA from the 2021 draft.  The one thing the NFL doesn't want is there teams to look worse than something like the XFL or the CFL so I don't know if they would let that happen.

Second, and this is really the bigger one, Spotrac, or anyone else,  don't know what kind of TV revenue is going to be coming in.  The NFL has contracts with FOX and CBS and ESPN they are contractually obligated to pay.  I know ESPN has been firing people left and right to afford this.  How has COVID-19 effected this?  is there any out if one of the networks can't pay for this at this time.  Is there any other revenue streams that are included in the cap that has been effected by covid?

So the 175 million cap really is just a guess at this time and could be alot  more or maybe even less.

Understood.

The question is though if we do get a different OC will that guy know how to use him?
