So what was with the game management late yesterday?

What makes it weird?

People keep saying this, but I'm not seeing it.  Of the three drives in the 4th quarter, all three had us in scoring position.  Bridgewater missed a touchdown that would have sealed the deal.  And Joey Slye missed a (albeit tough) field goal at the end of the game.  Even if I were to agree the play-calling could have been better... we were in position!  You can't ask for much more than that.  All Teddy had to do was hit the open man.

Teddy has passed the ball only 4 less times in the second half this season than he has in the first half.  And yet, he has 10 less touchdowns and a FAR FAR FAR worse passer rating.

If your offense is in scoring position all 3 drives in the 4th quarter, then it's hard for me to blame the OC.  But Teddy is crap in the red-zone.

We stopped running the ball... we could have taken off over 5min of the clock in the 4th. We were running all over the Vikings in the 2nd qtr and then Brady stopped running the ball in the second half. We didnt milk the clock with any of our 4 qtr possessions. Instead of being in a situation where we are kneeling on 1st and goal.... we were still having to run plays. Think about it this way.... we got the ball back with just over 2min left and vikings with a single time out.... that's a 95% win chance right there alone.

We shouldnt have to be in a situation where we need to pass for a TD in that situation.

What in particular did you find wrong with the game management? What would you have changed?

Both drives in 4th before last one led to points. Teddy missed a TD that would have got us 10 points instead of 6 and likely won the game. Last drive, we once again got into FG position.

The team was in a position to win multiple times. I’m just confused on what the coaches did wrong. It literally came down to Teddy missing that throw to DJ. We win the game if that happens. And he failed. But the team was in position. I don’t see how that is on the coaches.

You are already planning on punting it to the Vikings up 3. You get the ball back due to the Bebee fumble and take more time off the clock. You have to go for it on 4th down. Pointless to go up 6. Similar to what happened at Buffalo in 2013

I think it could be the worst game management I have ever seen. Up until this point I was encouraged about the headiness of the coaching staff. Yesterday looked a lot more like a Mike Shula level of ineptitude.

What happened?

Yesterday? It has already become a trend.

Game management was not the problem. Teddy missed an easy TD to Moore and that dropped pass on 2nd down also hurt us.

Offense had several chances to win the game.

Definitely not the worst game management you’ve ever seen lol

Missed 2 wide open DJ Moore TD's*. I've been saying give Teddy a chance but I'm slowly starting to fade into the bushes with that take. FAR too many weapons to be average, and loosing games when your rookie on DEFENSE is scoring you 2 touchdowns man.

Everybody has a bad day.  I'm not going to throw our coaches under the bus just for one bad game.  We were pretty close and yes, clock management got away.  Overall the coaching staff is much better than I anticipated.

With that said, get off their back.
