Seriously, it's time to give Walker an honest look

It's possible he did. But based on how Walker looked in his lone appearance this year and how Grier looked last year, I'd say Walker > Grier is likely the right call.

But you don't know that either.

You could just as easily make the argument that since we've already seen Walker, we might as well see Grier now.

And no, I'm not making that argument. But it could be argued with equal validity to what you're saying.

My argument is that he's the best quarterback on the roster, and as long as we're still officially in it, that's who should start.

Once we're out, and that's probably not too long from now, play whoever you want.

You can't definitively say that. In his first start he put up a Teddy-esque statline with flashes of more upside.

And Jake Delhomme.  It wasn't a comparison, it was an example to counter your assertion that because all 32 NFL teams passed PJ up initially then there is absolutely no way he is better than Teddy.

But, if framing it as if I was saying PJ was Kurt Warner waiting in the wings makes you feel better about your stance, have at it lol.

Come on, dude...

For every Kurt Warner there's probably two to three hundred Randy Fasanis (and I'm likely being conservative with that number).

My entire argument is let's find out what we don't know. Let's not allow fear of potentially doing worse keep us from it. Walker is the next man on deck rightly or wrongly, so let's see him get a legit shot.

I don't believe we're going anywhere this season. Why would I give a sh-t about doing worse?

What I do care about is making bad decisions that foster a losing culture.

This would be one of those.

What I grew tired of under Ron was watching us stick with ineffective players and that led to a losing culture. Sticking with Teddy at this point would feel like a continuation of that.

do you think a quarterback going 3-8 and going directly to the media to throw his coaches under the bus for his own failures fosters a winning culture or a losing culture?

Ron was also lousy at talent evaluation.

Is Rhule? We don't know yet.

And honestly, the equally large complaint with Rivera was that he kept starters playing even after we were eliminated.

I think the most important thing is that Rhule shows a solid response to today and we keep the trending upward overall as a franchise despite the speedbumps.  Today was a hit but I'm not down on coaching or the foundational players in place.  Really sucks about Moore so hoping for the best and that this staff is just going through growing pains.

Big plus for Robby Anderson. Big minus for Tahir Whitehead. Big minus for Teddy Bridgewater. All the other vet additions I'd say are a solid meh. I can't say they're significantly better or worse than they guys they replaced.

You can make an argument that Anderson and Whitehead were signed to this roster for the same reason, i.e. familiarity.

Their trajectories since then have been decidedly different.

But given that this was also the year we dumped a load of dead money, I'm going to be more interested to see what happens next offseason.
