I don't think Davidson is a bad OC. He has done a great job the past two years developing our ground game and the tight ends.

I also feel like, fox's conservatism keeps him on a leash a little bit, and the poor play from the QB is really crippling him.

Play calling hasn't changed much since last year when our offense was near unstoppable. What has changed is the inability for our players to execute...Jake turning it over, Smith dropping ball, Jarrett can't get open...etc

Two first round tackles, a second round center, a third round guard, and a free agent guard. Two first round running backs.

Wow, makes you wonder how he did it...

This.

You people are out of your mind if you think Davidson is the problem. He developed the best Panther offense in years last season, and he is now operating the most dangerous running game in the NFL. The passing game is completely defunct because Jake is over the hill and incapable of not screwing up. The fact that he is still the starter is the fault of Fox and Hurney, not Davidson. With a half-decent QB, Davidson can make this offense top 8, maybe top 5.

Davidson is calling the running game with a stocked offensive line and two of the best backs in the NFL. Even the posters on this board would be able to call running plays that look good with that sort of talent. The fact that he can't call passing plays that maximize his quarterback's ability is what has killed this offense.

Blame Jake all you want, but look at the stats. With Jake, Davidson averages six more points a game than he has without him. That includes his atrocious decision-making this year. And if you insist on blaming Jake, then give me a plausible explanation as to why our supposed-genius of an OC decided to throw more than run until Fox basically told him to knock it off and run the damn ball.

Maybe I am out of my mind, but Davidson's shown me nothing to convince me he deserves his position. Pinning his incompetence on Jake is just a cop-out.

I'm pretty sure his ability these days is limited to middle school level throws. That's about as good as his passing will get without multiple interceptions, so it looks to me like we're "maximizing his QB's ability."

LOL you took the words right out of my mouth. We ran Henning off because he could not work with a crap line then we praise Davidson after a total retool.

FYI: Henning is a really good OC that got Smith a Triple Crown. Davidson cant even get him the ball.
