Darin Gantt hired by Panthers.com??

Maybe Gantt got tired of "Mother Mike" Florio telling everyone how to live, chiding people for not wearing their masks to bed and in the shower,  etc.  He's become an insufferable read and I never used to miss his column.
Florio used to be funny, independent, and refreshingly irreverent.  Now he's fully woke and lost self awareness as to how frustrated people get with someone telling people how to live. It's not even a liberal/conservative thing, just think 80% of the people are tired of the other 20% deciding how everyone besides them should live - especially when many of the 20% don't personally follow the rules they insist everyone else obey.

I often disagree with Gantt but still think he can be funny and actually believes that people have a right to their own lives and opinions, so glad he's back.

His Twitter no longer mentions  PFT, but does link Panthers.com.

I took a look back over his feed.

On October 9th, he mentioned that it was his last day at PFT and thanked Florio for his time there.

On November 3rd, he referred to himself as an "unemployed sports writer".

His first story for the site appears on November 20th. That same day, he tweeted about this not being the first time the Panthers have "dragged an old guy out of retirement".

So yeah, looks like he now works for the team, which I guess would mean that he now works for Bill Voth (maybe?)

looks to be just doing some freelance stuff for them.

I actually like Gantt a lot.  All writers are different.  I like diversity.  I mean he and someone like Jourdan ain't going give you the same stuff.  Diversity is good.

I've always enjoyed Gantt.  Who wants to only listen to reporters who bow down to the team they report on and put a fluffy spin on everything?  Plus, I enjoy his sense of humor and takes on twitter.

Glad Gantt took the gig, he's a solid writer & I enjoy his willingness to engage on the twittersphere & his overall irreverence. My guess is that gets muzzled a bit now that he's on the team payroll, although I certainly hope not. App State alum too, so congrats to him from a fellow Mountaineer.
