I see where Ranc is coming from. Getting 3 is the higher % play. Now you actually do have the chance to onside kick and go for the tie.

Going for it on 4th and NOT getting a TD reduces your chance completely at tying the game.

It was two scores no matter what. Either way you were going to have to onside kick it.

They out smarted themselves. You don't play the % of the NEXT series, you focus on the easier chance that was at hand.
