the Panthers would have a much better record playing against those teams in that division and would be running away with that division right now. Panthers are 1-4 in the division right now. Flip that around to like 4-1 and this team is 7-4 and cruising to a home playoff game. Playing in the NFC South sucks sometimes.

Makes it that much sweeter when we win

I've been watching the NFL for 50 years and I have seen some bad divisions over the years.  Most wind up with an 8-8 or 9-7 winner, or somebody who goes on a run at the end of the year and finishes in that general vicinity but at least looks good entering the postseason (the Panthers at 7-8-1).  The NFCE is worse than any of them.  A team getting on a run is consecutive wins.

The Eagles showed some life for a couple of weeks and looked like they might salvage a run at .500 or a little better, but that did not last.  Will a tie against the Bengals save the Eagles?

Honestly, the Giants could win that mess.  They have a winning record within the division, and play the Joneses the last week at home.  Those two could easily be fighting for win number 5 or 6, and that might be enough.

Otherwise, it might be Dalton's return that saves the Cowboys.  I'll bet those words never entered anyone's mind.

Or will Washington not "miss opportunities" to cash in?

Stay tuned for more of this gripping drama on "As the Stomach Turns."
