Was the defense better because Whitehead and Jackson didn’t play?

First shutout since 2015 today. Noticeably better defensive performance without notorious underperformers in Tahir Whitehead and Donte Jackson. Coincidence? Or something that needed to happen 7 games ago?

Jackson is so hard to understand for me. Is he a positive or negative on the field?

Honestly, yeah. Whitehead is terrible but Jackson has really been struggling with that toe injury this year. I don't think he's been able to have a fair shot to show what he can do this season and should probably just be IR'ed at this point.

I'll give you Whitehead.  I don't think Donte is that bad at all and is arguably still our best corner when healthy.

It was partly because the Lions were trash, but yes I think this lineup was just better

Lions had 0 weapons on offence. Galloday and Amendola out leaving only Marvin Jones. Swift out leaving AP to carry the load since I guess Kerryon Johnson is in the doghouse. Stafford obviously hurting though he's average at best anyway.

I do think Carter is better than Whitehead at this point, but Donte not sure.

I'm not really a big fan of either guy.

But with that said, given just how terrible the Lions were today, it's hard to judge.

Panthers were missing McCaffrey and starting a backup QB in his first start ever so I think that evens out.

This a thread regarding defensive play. Who we were missing on offence does not affect who our defence faced.
