So do we cut Teddy Bridgewater at this point?

Teddy would have been roasted for that performance, even in a win

Why do you think that is?  Because people just hate Teddy and never wanted him to succeed?  Or do you think he just plays a boring brand of football and is so conservative that his mistakes outweigh the number of passes he completes?

Despite his mistakes, PJ threw receivers into yardage and made plays with his legs.  Those are things Teddy has struggled with all year.  PJ threw his receivers into a good day...  Teddy needs receivers to run him into his.  That's a big difference, imo.

I appreciate Teddy, but he is a net negative as a starter.  Now, if Teddy wouldve went out there and dinked and dunked our way into a loss, it'd be the same excuses as every other week.  JMO...

But again, none of our opinions matter.  Teddy is gonna be the starter unless Rhule and the staff find a QB in the draft that they like infinitely better.  They're not gonna sit 24M on the bench, period.

I understand that concept. What I don't understand is discounting PJ's performance when Teddy seemingly doesn't get the same objective review. Teddy has had plenty of his own failures that raise plenty of questions, and he has 3 whole seasons of the same film to back it up. Saying he'd put up 40 and positioning it as a negative against PJ is nonsense because one expects new starters to make errors. Even the worst NFL team is likely better than the XFL, so give the guy credit where it's deserved. That's it.

With respect to starting, as unfortunate as I feel it is of course Teddy is the starter. Walker did show elements of what Teddy lacks and my hope is the same as it's always been, that this staff doesn't fixate on Teddy's 'good enough' at the cost of upgrading the position if they feel an upgrade option exists.

It's the Kyle Allen thing.  QB's a lot of times perform fairly well on their first start when people don't have tape on them.   Last year it was the same thing.  After 3 games they were talking about long term deals for Kyle Allen.  However after a few weeks everyone goes.. oh... that's why he was an undrafted free agent.   Teddy has put up far better peformances and if our Defense played half as good we would have won more games.  As the announcer said, we are/were historically bad at 3rd downs.  Historically the worse coming into the game since 1972.

However people here tend to fixate on the last play.  So a lot of the blame falls on the QB, which is what happens.   If our Defense can maintain even a semblance of todays play we won't have to have a game winning drive with 1:45 left on the clock every week.  Then Teddy won't get the blame after us scoring 30 points.

Totally disagree with alot of this... PJ threw alot of passes that WR had to turn around to catch or reach out of their sweet zone for..

It's all opinion, but Speilman is a super smart football guy, and he was praising PJ's ball placement and timing.  That deep throw to Moore was better than any throw I've seen Teddy make all year.

That's irrelevant here though.  Again, the Lions suck, but say they score two TDs off PJ's picks.  They still lost.

What about Teddy's wins?

Its totally relevant, this defense hasnt been able to stop a team from scoring on almost every drive this season unless there was a freak turnover.  How many times did Teddy go up in the 4th quarter just to have the defense give the other team a touchdown.
