So do we cut Teddy Bridgewater at this point?

He played one game against one of the worst teams in the league, and it wasn't even that good of a performance.

70% completion rate, deep throws, 2 correctable interceptions... pretty decent to me. If folks were declaring Teddy the future after some dink and dunk stat:padding performances against middling competition then I ask again, why does PJ get discounted given his specific circumstances? Not even saying PJ is the future, just asking why his performance not get viewed through the same lens?

And still no actual response.

Actual response..

Teddy played better competition with worse performances from his defense and oline.

We're paying Teddy to be the starter here and the contract alone dictates he gets more chances then a practice squad QB who looked Okay against a horrible team...

Teddy would have put up 40 today

Ya at least 34 to account for the two interceptions. Probably more. I don't get how people are even comparing PJ to Teddy outside of the arm strength. Teddy is way more cerebral and way more accurate and its pretty clear a lot people blamed on teddy with things like 2 minute drill are on Brady as PJ was having the same issues.

It should have told people something that NO elected to let him walk in order to retain Hill, despite starting Teddy for 5 games last season.

Trading him back to NO would be ideal, but thats a lot of dead money next season...  that being said, as I mentioned in the other thread, Teddy will be here for the duration of the contract and unless we get a first round QB, he will start, simply bc of the politics of the NFL.  They paid him 24M per, vouched for him, dumped the most beloved Panther in franchise history and a former MVP for him and told the world Teddy would be a better QB for their offense and team going forward.  So after that, you think they're gonna bench him for a UDFA, even if he is better?  Not a chance.

I understand that concept. What I don't understand is discounting PJ's performance when Teddy seemingly doesn't get the same objective review. Teddy has had plenty of his own failures that raise plenty of questions, and he has 3 whole seasons of the same film to back it up. Saying he'd put up 40 and positioning it as a negative against PJ is nonsense because one expects new starters to make errors. Even the worst NFL team is likely better than the XFL, so give the guy credit where it's deserved. That's it.

With respect to starting, as unfortunate as I feel it is of course Teddy is the starter. Walker did show elements of what Teddy lacks and my hope is the same as it's always been, that this staff doesn't fixate on Teddy's 'good enough' at the cost of upgrading the position if they feel an upgrade option exists.

Teddy would have been roasted for that performance, even in a win

I discount it because.. Its was a perfect situation to look good.. As a QB.. Detroit is bad and your defense puts up a shutout... Then the Oline plays better then they have in weeks.. These things have nothing to do with the QB..

I'm sorry if I'm not trying to form a opinion or judge a player based on 1 game.. good or bad .
