Will DJ Moore be back next year?

I don’t think this is a Moore vs Samuel thing.  Moore is under contract through next season, Samuels contract expires after this year.  This is more of a Moore vs Anderson thing, since both contracts expire in 2021 and both will command good money.  We will have to choose 1 or the other.

If it's between Robby and Dj and I think Robby has to go. Even tho he has played well for us, I just think his ceiling is lower, and so is his explosiveness. He doesn't really get YAC. He's consistent as hell, but I just think DJ is better, and more tailored to our future than Robby. Curtis has been very solid too and his swiss army knife nature makes us harder to peg in terms of scheme.

so.... are you saying that the three of of WRs are not a good combination of player skill and chemistry?

No. Im saying don't try to copy trends. Try to start them.  Chances you can reproduce another teams success by seeking out similar players is slim.

Serious question - new to the board, but is it rife with trolls?

This is the second thread I've seen today that can be summarized as "We have a good young player. Should we trade him?"

More people who dont understand football and just overreact to everything. I said it in another post but people on here want us to turn in to the Jets. From 2012-17 they traded away 5 of their 6 1st round picks to get more draft capital. Look how that has worked out for them. They used part of it to trade up for Sam Darnold. So yeah lets copy the Jets and trade our last 3 1st rounders and move up to draft Lance or someone else...

I don’t think these two threads were outright trolling. The thought process behind each idea has merit to it but it’s obviously not the best solution. At the beginning of the season Burns wasn’t playing great and based off of last year many thought he might be better suited in a different defensive system. So if we aren’t going to be in the playoffs the next two years maybe you move a guy like that to get more draft capital.

Same with DJ. He’s young. He’s got value. He’s put up 1k yards with Kyle Allen. Teams would trade for that and it looked like we were moving towards making Robbie and Curtis the feature guys. And you can’t pay them all.

I don’t agree with either take. I think you need as many young players who have talent as possible. I think it would be dumb of us to trade either of them but I can totally see where the idea would come from.

The problem with that is then we finally get a QB and in 2 years he is throw to the likes of David Gettis or Dwayne Jarrett because when we finally had a good young player we traded him away. Imagine if we had traded Steve Smith in 2010 because he had value. When we finally got Cam his top receivers would have been Brandon LaFell and Legedu Naanee

welcome to the huddle.   it isn't trolling.

but yeah, we should trade so and so for a 3rd or so so for a 1st is common practice here.

I do feel the need for all players of worth to have a nickname discussion thread has died down some in recent years.   so we do evolve and grow.

Most of our fanbase is young and came from watching college to follow cam...they’re unfamiliar with how the nfl works and can only go off madden, in fact a lot of things on the huddle are madden esque (there’s been threads and post saying to trade up for Lawrence )
