Will DJ Moore be back next year?

No doubt we need him, but of all players who would make sense to trade, he would have to be near the top of the list.  He would attract offers, and with RA playing well and Curtis developing nicely, an argument could be made that he would bring in enough of a return to warrant a trade.

For what it's worth, I personally want to keep him.

It's a very interesting topic and appreciate you for making a thread that doesn't include "QB" in the title haha. In all seriousness, I'm in the same boat as you, I want to keep him. It really comes down to if he's going to be asking for WR1 type money, if so I think it's smart to package him for draft capital or an established lineman and then resign curtco and draft a later mid round WR. Side note - I still have high hopes for a name that might have been forgotten which would be Omar Bayless, he was balling out and even getting high praise from Rhule before his injury.

I made a post during the offseason of Funchess' last year with us and argued we should get value from him now and make a trade. I was made fun of. We missed a chance on that one. DJ I'd love to keep, but having three WRs eating up a large chunk of the salary cap is not viable imo.

I'm gonna say yes, but if we have to trade up for a QB, he could be part of the package.

I think it would be a mistake to trade him though. He's our most talented WR and he's only 23.

The mere idea Hurney trading up for a QB and DJ being included makes me nauseous

whelp, we could get a second or maybe even a later first.  he's that good, even with his second contract looming and knowing what his position make these days.  One thing in our advantage....lots of flashy WRs come out every year....the question is, will they bust?  will they play to their potential and then become a diva/pain in the ass distraction?  He's prove to be very good on and off the field, quiet performer who has succeeded despite horrible QB play and play calling.

He's got value.   I like him a lot better than Curtis, but Curtis will be cheaper to sign, and I like Robby as WR 1.  I don't see a way we can pay DJ and extend Robby after next year.

And we could use an extra top 50 pick in a big way.

When you make a player your first round pick. You are saying he's apart of your future.  He has done nothing wrong to not continue to believe he's part of the future.  It makes no sense to trade a former 1st rounder and another first rounder for a QB unless you're talking about the only two franchise QBs in this draft.  And to be honest the cost is going higher than Moore and our #1 pick in 2021.

I personally would be upset because he's is a talented WR and can win contested balls.    Moore, Samuel and Anderson are the best trio in the NFL.  How long Anderson will be here is unknown.  You lose Anderson in a year or two in Free Agency and the next thing you know our #1 WR is Samuel.

So no, I am 100% against trading Moore.

Looking at recent seasons of TB, ARI, CLE, SEA, MIN, DAL, BUF, LAR, KC ... I think the league is turning into 3 receiving threats plus a back who can catch passes. Money is being spent on offense for these franchises. I believe in Rhule/Brady system, the purpose is to have as many weapons on the field at once.

that’s being said, I don’t see us trading Moore. He is cheap talent right now, for at least another 2 years.
