Do people still not know the difference between stuffing and dressing?

Hont- if something is stuffed inside the bird...

Most folks don't stuff the bird due to concerns about being underdone.

I make a true, fresh cranberry sauce. Boil down the cranberries, plenty of sugar, fresh squeezed orange juice, walnuts, etc.

My first attempt several years ago turned out to be a huge hit with everyone, so I decided to make it an annual thing.

Gotta admit, I've not had mac & cheese for TG, but I'd be willing to take that on, too.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Lots of people already doing exactly what you described with leftover after Thanksgiving. Don't make Thanksgiving itself like leftovers day.

I do a leftover turkey pot pie that is the bee's knees. My boys like it more than Thanksgiving day.

I could get behind that as well. There's nothing about just turkey that really interests me. Sandwich, pot pie, turkey & tortellini soup... but just turkey? No, thanks.

cranberry sauce is sooooo good on mac n cheese.  idk why, but if you make a mac n cheese this year try a little bit of it.

Traditional Thanksgiving turkey is overrated.

Discuss.

I smoked one a couple of years ago using cherry wood.  It was a ton of work, but it was great.  Much better than roasted out of the oven.  But, I would have to be bribed to do it again since I had to get up very early on a day off to start the thing.  If you have a Traeger, it probably becomes a lot easier, but I use an old horizontal offset smoker that I've had for almost 20 years.

Best thing overall: a good pecan pie

Best side: a good sweet potato casserole.

I have had so-so versions of both, hence the disclaimer that they be good.

100% agree with every word of this.
