Who do you want to start on Sunday at QB?

There is something to this.  People do not seem to comprehend the term, "developmental."  A late third round QB is not going to set the world on fire as a rookie--they don't exist.  So we need to stop trashing late rounders because they struggled as rookies.

The guy putting together the gameplan for him last year is literally out of coaching, should tell you how bad the coaching situation was when he was thrown into action.

like the moment 2010 REALLY went off the rails was when defenses realized Clausen couldn't (or the Panthers wouldn't (or both)) push the ball downfield at all.

then the defenses basically lined up in the panthers huddle and the only plays we could run were HB dives and quick outs to steve smith, which Peppers still managed to intercept one time.

The panthers offense now is trending that direction

Yep. We're definitely seeing defenses crowding the LOS, taking away the intermediate routes, and inviting the checkdowns because they know our QB will readily take them.

did you notice the bucs completely took away the quick timing routes over the middle that teddy loves so much? the quick 8-12 yard ones?

they were just gone sunday, and bridgewater would immediately check down. Every time.

Still think Jimmy Clausen holds some type of NFL record.  Most NFL passes without a TD to a WR.  Got to be a record.

Yep. The first team I really noticed doing it was the Saints in crunch time. There we were out there with not much time left and us only needing a FG to tie. They still had their entire D within 10 yards of the LOS because they know Teddy. That drive managed 28 yards in 11 plays. Here's the full play by play:

1st & 10 at CAR 25
(7:55 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Bridgewater pass short right to M.Davis pushed ob at CAR 32 for 7 yards (A.Anzalone). Pass 1, YAC 6

2nd & 3 at CAR 32
(7:16 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Bridgewater pass short middle to R.Anderson to CAR 38 for 6 yards (C.Gardner-Johnson). Pass 3, YAC 3

1st & 10 at CAR 38
(6:30 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Bridgewater pass short left to D.Moore to CAR 46 for 8 yards (M.Williams). Pass 4, YAC 4

2nd & 2 at CAR 46
(5:45 - 4th) M.Davis right guard to 50 for 4 yards (C.Jordan; M.Jenkins).

1st & 10 at 50
(5:01 - 4th) M.Hartsfield left end to NO 48 for 2 yards (S.Tuttle).

2nd & 8 at NO 48
(4:13 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Bridgewater pass short left to C.Samuel to NO 43 for 5 yards (M.Jenkins). Pass -3, YAC 8

3rd & 3 at NO 43
(3:29 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Bridgewater scrambles left end ran ob at NO 38 for 5 yards (S.Rankins).

1st & 10 at NO 38
(3:20 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Bridgewater pass incomplete short right.

2nd & 10 at NO 38
(3:12 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Bridgewater pass short left to M.Davis to NO 39 for -1 yards (D.Onyemata; M.Davenport). Pass -6, YAC 5

3rd & 11 at NO 39
(2:25 - 4th) (Shotgun) T.Bridgewater sacked at NO 47 for -8 yards (M.Davenport).

(2:00 - 4th) Two-Minute Warning

4th & 19 at NO 47
(2:00 - 4th) J.Slye 65 yard field goal is No Good, Short, Center-J.Jansen, Holder-J.Charlton.

Seriously. Just look at that. Teddy completed five passes for what combined for a total of -1 yards through the air. The furthest downfield he completed a pass was four yards. That is TRASH.

Will triggered my Clausen memories.  I was done with him after that.

This right here, I saw it live at Indy, and was like "welp, this must've been what it was like in 2010." I was so excited because I got amazing seats dirt cheap due to Luck announcing his retirement, little did I know just how awful we would be by the time the game took place. The only reason I even went was to take my son to a Panthers game to root for the good guys. It was worth the experience of being there with him, but the product on the field was atrocious to say the least.
