There's an evil little part of me that wants Trevor Lawrence to stay in school, setting up a debate between Trevor Lawrence and Sam Howell during which I will sit back and eat lots of popcorn while the board engages in thermonuclear war :)

Would be dope. But I like both those QBs and don't want to see either of them on the Saints and the Cowboys, two teams which are guaranteed to suck next year.

MJ is one of my favorite athletes of all-time, but getting drafted by MJ is the kiss of death.

Nah. It isn't MJ that ruins them. He just had a knack for picking guys that have zero of his traits.

I honestly wonder if it is some subconscious thing. I know he gravitated towards mentoring Carmelo even though LeBron absolutely idolized him. I always suspected it was because he viewed LeBron as the greater threat to his legacy.

There really are four QBs in this draft that deserve to be first rounders. As a team who needs a franchise guy, I love that! I'm not suggesting we make an overly aggressive trade to move up, I'm just saying I'd be cool with either of them. After the top four, I think I'd rather have Bridgewater.

Whatever I feel about Teddy, I hate the idea that we take the talking head's next guy just because he is their best guy left on the board and we have the need. Just dumb. If the right guy is there then take him and if those are gone, go to another position. Taking the wrong player based on need and locking into a position is how we fell on Little who isn't even able to take a starting spot on our trash Oline. We could have waited a year and got an actual LT that is worth picking along with interior help in 2019 instead of a huge dud and the same hole in the roster.

My view:  Look at the position, not the person.  If you draft a QB that is good enough to beat out your starter, you do it.  The starter then becomes an elite reserve or trade bait.  How valuable is the QB vs all other positions?   It there is a QB who can beat out your starting QB, you draft the QB--even if there is a hall of fame Guard or Safety on the board.

Is Trevor probably an upgrade over Bridgewater?  Yes.

Fields?  Yes

Lance?  Probably

Wilson?  Probably

So I take one of the top 4 Qbs.  Since LT is the second most important position, I might take Sewell over Wilson or Lance if both were there.

I’m a fan of this as well. If we can pull off Fields or Lawrence, take the QB. If you miss out on them and Sewell is there you have to take him and hope a Lance or Wilson falls to the second round or go for Trask in round 2.

Is Trevor probably an upgrade over Bridgewater?  Without a doubt.

Fields?  Almost certainly

Lance?  Probably
