Lance is mobile Trask is not

Yea but Trask reads the field and goes through his progressions. Lance does not.

edit: I may end up dropping Trask from my preferred targets, I’ve only watched a couple videos. But from what I’ve seen he definitely looks more like an NFL QB than Lance. I’m not big on Lance, he’s in one of those systems that almost exclusively throws to the first read. That’s one of the things I most watch for. Fields is in the same kind of system. He almost NEVER looks to a second receiver. He has other things I like and would have course be good with drafting him. But Lance looks like a college stud NFL dud to me.

He has great ball placement and accuracy, and he knows where to go with ball. Problem is he’s has an average arm and is a statue, he kind of reminds of Burrow from a strictly pocket perspective but he just can’t move like him. I guess Kirk Cousins would be his best comp

This is why I didn't like Herbert, but the problem is that as a fan you can't know whether that's due to system or due to QB.

Trask is like the 6th best QB in this draft, and thats not a knock on him. The QB class is stacked like no other, might be a better draft PROSPECT wise than even 1983. If your team is needy for a QB and you pick in the the top half of the first round you should find a quality one, and smart teams will pick one instead of some dumb poo like a Florida State DT thats gonna end up being totally mediocre.

I don't really agree with that. You take the guy that is going to be the best player available. The history of reaching on QB's in the first round is extremely bad. This draft has a couple of elite guys, a guy that might be elite and a bunch of varying levels of potentially good QB's. Get the best player wherever we are drafting, if it happens to be a QB, so be it. There is no reason to overdraft a QB(Will Grier/Jimmy Clausen). We aren't going to be good next year and we have a lot of needs.

Once you get past Field and Lawrence, the QB game becomes "How many warts are you okay accepting?"

Wilson seems to have the least warts of the bunch and then it gets dicey with most of the QB prospects from that point onward. Varying level of warts, some genital, some facial.

Yeah, Wilson is who I want.

Herbert also showed some other elite traits like ball placement in college. I think the good drastically outweighed the bad and I know at the time you disagreed.
