Any QB in the NFL is going to have a short career if you can't protect them, it doesn't matter how big they are. I'd like to see this evidence to support the idea that being a bigger QB helps with longevity or durability. That's kind of my point, a lot of that old school thought process is basically gone now. If you can play, you can play. If you are inherently injury prone, that usually rears it's head long before you are in the NFL.

300lbs vs 250lbs

The Mannings were big guys, I think it matters at the highest levels when you're investing big $.

Yes, it's old thinking but I want my QB  6'4" or taller for obvious reasons and some meat on his bones is preferred because it's the NFL.

Getting a LT in the second round and playing him may be critical--if not, get a guard--at least you only have 1 glaring weakness.  
MLB is our next biggest need, but we have needed a 2-down LB--not a Tampa 2 LB--so there are good ones later.

Why would Ben not be getting a big check if he weren't big but had the same skills? I am extremely perplexed by your reasoning here.

Heavy vs light

Teddy has skill but no physical attributes to overcome in a league of physical freaks. He's not bigger, faster, or stronger than anybody.

As a QB your reads, reaction and IQ can overcome but there are very few Drew Brees in the world and he's recently taken a beating.

Brees decline probably has to do with his age moreso than anything else. He is 41 years old.

Luckily for us, the NFL has ababdoned your mindset of a traditional, tall, heavy and immobile QB. It isn't about getting a QB "big enough" to take a pounding in the NFL. It's about getting a QB SKILLED enough to play in the NFL and then NOT letting him take that kind of pounding. 

Teddy is far from a big guy and he is also experiencing some of the best protection and scheming we have had in a few years to keep him from getting blasted. It also helps that he is a pretty good athlete and can scramble from some of this pressure, as well.

Those are things that matter in the modern NFL, not the idealized QB measurables from 1985.

Trask is firmly in the Heisman chase ahead of some of these other guys, top guys. Second I believe. Pretty darn good for a "nobody".

If/When he wins for being a QB, a passing QB, can anybody continue to question his deserved first round status?

Gotta give the guy credit he's outperforming supposedly "better" QBs. When they liken you to Drew Brees (one of my favorite before the Aints), that's elite company and what Drew does, his efficiency his timing, is amazing.

Yes please. Much more promise than who we've got.
