Big 12 was ass last year. OU with Hurts was not good, and the rest of the Big 12 was meh. OU made the Title game because everyone else poo their pants.

You are describing almost every year in the Big 12. The most fearsome Big 12 teams in recent memory have been fielded by TCU, who did actually happen to have elite defenses.

Don't get me wrong, the shootout style conference like the Big 12 is ultra, ultra, ultra fun to watch during the year. But they are consistently fool's gold when it comes to national title contention. That shade could be thrown very easily at the Big Ten.....except for Ohio St. Every other Big Ten team is largely the same paper tiger as the typical Big 12 team.

That's why I wasn't fond of any OU team other than the 2017-18 squad. That team had so many draftable players on it, it was nuts.

I think this years OU team is for real, that's why I'm hyping them up. They haven't had a defense this good in years. Maybe over a decade man. But alas, COVID might ruin their chances like so many other teams.

But they 100% are NOT for real. They are a two loss team in a season with less games. Dude, they lost to KANSAS STATE(4-5). That is not recoverable for any team in the top 25 as far as playoff standing. Had Alabama lost to that team, they are probably outside the top 4 teams as a one loss team. Then they further lost to a pretty good Iowa St. team but that was basically the complete death knell for their hopes of any title contention. They basically have one quality win against Ok. St. and that is it. That is less of an impressive resume than Cincinnati has and they are a non-P5 team.

It doesn't matter in college football how good you are playing at the time the playoffs start, it matters how you played the whole season. OU has no credible argument for being included in any sort of playoff outside an expansion to more than 8 teams.

They will be included in the argument, hell, they'll be top 10 in this weeks Playoff rankings with 3 weeks left to go. This is a COVID year. Eye test is what matters. They lost to Kansas State, when Kansas State had Skyler Thompson at QB (he is out for the season and they were 4-2 with him), and OU didn't have their best defensive player, nor best RB, since both of them have comeback their games have been blowouts. Which again, the Committee chair mentioned last week during the broadcast. That's why OU was ranked at 11 ahead of BYU, and Indiana. OU has two top 25 wins in Okie State and Texas. Which you said didn't matter, although it does.

Cincy has no top 25 wins, period. Their best win is skating by UCF. That's pretty bad.

When the end of the season comes December 20th for the final CFP rankings, they'll be talked about a lot if OU wins out handedly and looks good doing it. Would you rather see a 2 loss OU team that has won by 20 points or more over their last 7 opponents to end the season? Or a Cincinnati team that has skated by beating AAC Conference opponents to end the season? That's going to be the question for the Committee I believe. And OU's resume will look better to end the season too, because the win vs Tulsa for Cincy? Yeah, another non ranked opponent.

I would rather watch a Cincinnati team because they actually played well enough to deserve it. Especially since both of those teams would get pounded by the rest of the field anyway.

I will say one thing. Cincy getting in will finally show the non Power 5 conferences don’t belong in the Playoff. So, if OU didn’t get in. I would prefer that.

I'm about to the point that I'm on the "anyone but Teddy" train. Just being honest.

My thing with him, he’s average. And always shows average poo. Never above being average, just average. That’s worse than a young bad QB that shows glimpses and promises of becoming good. As a fan you have hope for someone like that. Can’t say the same for a QB that is 27 and constantly average.

Yeah, he's mediocre and that's his ceiling. There's really no physical talent there to allow for significant improvement.
