Anyone have excitement or positive vibes left for this season?

Winning three games gave everyone false hope. I don’t think anyone thought the Panthers would be a good team this year.
I do see some positives though:

Special Teams: the rookie punter and Slye have looked good. Cooper looked like a legit PR when he actually got a chance.

offense: Miller and Moton have looked good on the right side. Davis has surprised. Samuel is making plays, and Robbie Robinson was a huge signing. Moore has shown flashes and has talent to take it to the next level.

defense: Chinn, Brown, YGM- all look like solid rookies. Burns is a beast. Haynes and Obada are good rotational DE, Franklin looks like he could be a promising undrafted rookie. Burris is a solid safety. Douglas, other than the last game, has looked good.

This team definitely has a lot of holes to fill and realistically I don’t think any of us thought they would win more than five games this year

I hope they keep Samuel around. He really developed into a crucial piece of the offense this season. It was a running joke last season that he was always getting open and Allen never even looked his way.

If we can manage to get Justin Fields or Trey Lance I'd be beyond thrilled. But I have a feeling we're going to end up with Sam Darnold.

Sam Darnold might not be a bad idea.  He has history with Anderson and wasn't too bad when he had some weapons.  We have weapons but can't consistently get points.  (ie 3rd Qtr of every game)

I think the problem lies with the 1st round franchise QB.  I don't ever think we'll be that bad where we end up with the top spot (or two).  This usually means we have to be able to find that gem in round two (Brees) or beyond (Brady) or get a veteran that is about to be outed. (Darnold).  I do not see the Jets passing up any of the top 3 QBs.

We have to address the O-Line. WE HAVE TO.  You see what Bucs did to us.  Once they got a substantial lead.  They brought the house almost every play and we couldn't make them pay for it once.   This is going to be the continually attack once we get behind.   If we had a good O-Line we could make them pay.  You gash any team for 40 or 50 yds because they  blitzed, they'll think twice before they come again.

I am hoping for stud YOUNG LT and possibly a center in our 1st two picks.

Address MLB in Free Agency (again) or beg and pled Luke to come back (JK)

To answer the OP.  We have some solid building blocks providing we are smart enough to keep them. Offensively everyone that isn't named TB and our O-line man, minus Moton and maybe Daley.  Defensively,  We have Brown, YGM, Chinn and Franklin.  You could throw a couple others that might be good with more talent around them like Pride and Douglas.   Overall, I think we've started well in the rebuilding and we need to let these guys continue to grow.

I'm definitely excited for the team.  Matt Rhule looks like a legit coach for the franchise, and him and his staff have us looking competitive against decent teams without our best player and with a roster that's clearly in a rebuilding state.  Getting blown out by the Bucs sucks, but that tends to happen when a talented team gets embarrassed the week before like what happened to them against the Saints.  Its a much more promising situation than the Lions, who are not in a rebuilding mode yet can't win more than a handful of games.  That coaching staff is inferior to ours.

This receiving core is nice and the future looks particularly bright there.  We knew we would struggle on defense while we rebuild the personnel there.  We were having issues even before our best defensive player quit before the season.

I have long speculated there is a secret gay underground organization in the NFL and taysom hill and troy aikman are definitely a part of it. Maybe he's got some info about whitehead and boston tho, I'm not sure who all is involved.

rod smart and jarrod cooper were absolutely slamming into each other back in the day

I always saw this as a building year and Chinn and YGT are looking pretty good and Burns has way exceeded my expectations. Samuel and Anderson are quietly making a great duo and we will build on that. So yeah it's micro progression but it's good for the future.
