Brown? Dont see him exceeding expectations, IMHO.

Looking at his overall performance so far, I'd put Pep in the "hurt more than helped" category.

Winners = Hollis Thomas, I know he was signed late, but he has far exceeded my expectations.

Absolutely. This guy looked like he was a white beard short of being Santa at the mall and would provide nothing to this team. But he has really played well and helped salvage our defense.

It's a shame that this defensive effort will go to waste this season.

Brown? Dont see him exceeding expectations, IMHO.

Looking at his overall performance so far, I'd put Pep in the "hurt more than helped" category.

28 tackles, 7 sacks, 3 FF and an INT returned for a touchdown as well as i think two safeties in 8 games.

definately one of the worst players on the team.

Winners: (Guys who have played above expectations or have proven to be vital parts)

-Williams - he basically is now the Panther offense

-Martin and Captain in the secondary - above expectations

-Panther DL (including Pep) - overall the group has looked solid once the DT spot got solved. If you rely on the front 4 alone...some weeks it won't be there no matter how solid they are.

-Davis/Beason

Losers:

Fox

Davidson

Jake

(all 3 have been consistantly medicore)

Smith - sure the above guys play a key role in it....but he has a bigger role than most acknowledge.

Moose - love the guy but he is done

Marshall - isn't a #2 CB

Studs

DeAngelo Williams-he is to this 2009 panthers team what steve smith was to us in 2005...our only offense. He leaves it all on the field. Yes he has had some fumble problems but without him we have NO offense. I feel i need to send him a fruit basket and some preparation H because the rest of the offense is screwing him big time. He is a Pro Bowler and he better get in this year.

Jon Beason and Thomas Davis-this two continue to show why they are two of the best in the league. Even before he was injured Davis flew around like a missle and Beason continued to be the ray lewis of the south. Both deserve the pro bowl but sadly Davis may have a problem since 4-3 and 3-4 OLB have no difference in the Pro Bowl vote.

Captain Munnerlyn-no INT's but that doesn't matter. He is being asked to cover number 1 recievers and he is performing exceptianally well for a 7th round pick. Not afraid to be physical he may be our second best hitter in the secondary behind chris harris.

Hollis Thomas-for a "over the hill" 340 pound DT he has had the biggest impact on our D-line. He's helped take up double teams allowing the ends to get pressure and is getting major push in the run d.

Duds

Jake Delhomme-do I really need to say more?

Our two Jeffs(king and Otah)-these two commit more false starts than anyone on the team. And they are always on key drives. They need to fix this and fast.

Chris Gamble-After asking ron meeks to allow him to play "more physical" he was physically handled on both of NO's biggest plays. He can't tackle man up and his only sure fire tackle is at the knees. Despite having a rookie and a first year starter playing opposite him it seems every big play happens against our "shut down" corner.

Jon Stewart-he needs to see an eye doctor because he couldn't find a hole in homer simpsons underwear let alone on the field. Williams can find a hole the size of a penny and make a play. It seems like if the whole isn't bigger than a tank stewart can't find it. Plus he continues to fumble on key drives.

Mushin Muhammed-age has hit him hard this year. He just isn't getting open. Yeah jake is partially responsible but some of it has to be on Moose. Last year no doubt.

Charles Godfrey-can't cover, can't tackle, and now injured. Only good from this is that Martin has started and if fox has any kind of brain he'll keep Sherrod in as the starter.

John Fox/Jeff Davidson-see jake comment.
