QB Conundrum

The big mistake as far as QBs was letting go Kyle Allen for 5th rounder because he is a good back up and is so cheap. We did turn the pick into drafting Chinn but still that was a bad value trade.

I am ok with drafting QB in first round.  Please don’t make desperate moves to trade up though,  it’s for teams who don’t have any QB and we still have Teddy.

I think the contract exudes more confidence than lack there of.

I can see your point of view that leadership (Rhule, Brady) see TB as a starting caliber QB and it's on them. I honestly believe that Rhule believes to some degree that TB can win in Carolina with Brady, however I think Rhule/Hurney were smart enough to give him a short contract (3 years) to see what they have in TB. If TB balls out and plays winning caliber football, they look like genius for believing in him and extend him, if he plays subpar or average QB play then they look for his replacement in 1- 2 years again they look smart for not sticking to an average QB. I don't think Cam would thrive in this situation like TB does, Cam has never been known to be a pinpoint pocket passer and Rhule knows that when he hired Brady. As much as Rhule and Brady want to believe that TB is the QB of the future, he also has to play like a franchise QB to earn that title.

How shocked would everyone be if we don't draft a QB this offseason and decide to build around Teddy?

I still think there were some within the organization who thought Teddy could be the answer, and that drafting a QB next year wasn't a given.

Not at all.

And we are tired of hearing that he is a franchise QB from posters here as well. That’s where this stems from. People comparing Teddy to some of the greats or some of the leagues best young talent. He isn’t on their level. He was a smart signing for three years that we will likely get one more out of him.

Who are you positioning as the next Panthers QB?

He is what his market value is. It's that simple. I'm tired of hearing this "franchise QB" drum that you guys are beating nonstop. The problem with signing Teddy was that he's too good for a team needing to tank and compile picks.

Didn’t we even pay less than the bears offered him because he had a clear starting opportunity here rather than a competition there?
