He usually doesn’t get hit from what I’ve noticed. Not nearly as many called runs as Cam either.

How often do you watch Cardinals games? Rational discussion here be honestly I haven't seen a ton of full games but the ones I have seen he's taken quite a beating in the pocket on plays were he evades the first defender. On about half of his runs his perfect baseball slide keeps him clean but when he does get wacked its pretty hard.

He usually tries to go out of bounds from what I’ve seen, so he doesn’t get hit.

In the pocket, it is what it is.

Our line isn't great but Teddy definitely relies on the underneath and dump off routes more than he needs to. People are using the O-line as a scapegoat for legitimate criticisms.

I’d argue the opposite. Watching Brady operate without pressure for most of the game should have been enlightening for everyone. Teddy wouldn’t have time to make a quarter of the passes that Brady attempted downfield today.

Won’t even get into the 2-3 would-be touchdowns he would have had if he wouldn’t have overshot his receivers today. This game could have gotten really out of hand.

The fact that Brady has figured out how to feature Samuel but not Moore remains a head scratcher. He's definitely got a bright future but I feel like HC is pushing it for him right now

Moore needs TB to put it on a rope and give him room to run. We aren't seeing that. Moore's speed is his biggest weapon and too often he has to slow down to let the ball catch up.

i think his last possession today just said it all

down sixteen, bucs still playing close to the line of scrimmage

still not taking any shots

takes two check down routes almost immediately

I am to the point where I would almost be happy to see him throw an INT down the field. When we had Cam I tried saying for years that interceptions and ESPECIALLY completion percentage were useless stats. Under certain context some interceptions aren't bad plays if they happen down the field and your guy is simply trying to make winning plays. Completion percentage definitely. Folks criticized Cam's completion percentage for years and now we have a guy going like 70% but it really does not matter because none of the plays really make a difference.

short efficient passes keep you in games, but they seldom win them.

these charts tell me we wouldn't be much worse than 3-6 without him but potentially far better with a competent shot-taker in these close ass games.

When looking at Teddy's charts alone, that can certainly be one conclusion reached.

When looking at them in comparison to the rest of the league, however, then we can clearly see that most NFL offenses now are operating with a lot of short passing games to the outside and very few attempts passed 20yds. His charts aren't exactly out of the ordinary nor are they symbolic of the team's issues with winning. I would argue that has more to do with a defense that can't stop opponents on third down and an OL that can't protect when it matters.

Is Teddy special? Not in terms of the guy that the team rallies behind for the next decade, but is he as bad as folks continue to go out of their way to make him out to be? Not at all.
