CB Douglas takes blame for the loss

For a dude we signed off the street for peanuts, he's been great. It's insane that he's being counted on to be anything more than a #4 CB, where he would be a massive overperformer.

Don't blame the player being put into a position where he doesn't have the tools to perform adequately. Blame the GM who can't figure out how to fill a roster without counting on signing dudes off the street to play in high-leverage starting roles.

No doubt, Evans took his lunch money today. He was useless when he got jammed at the line. But... I still think he's a decent starter, or good backup.

Appreciate the gesture, but it wasn't just energy.  Evans sonned him all day.  I didn't think anyone would make me miss Bradberry, but my God...  Douglas was BAD today.

He was awful today

Can ya'll specifically reference any one play? I don't remember him being horribly out of position.

The TD against him was a great throw and catch. It was also stated that someone (looking at the replay probably Boston) didn't provide him with expected help over the middle.

Evans had 77 YDS/1 TD which doesn't qualify as owning or taking a players lunch money when you are a top 5 WR in the league.

I agree with you. Yea Evans made plays but he wasn’t having some crazy game. I felt that he and pride did okay. It certainly wasn’t our coverage on the WRs that lost the game. LB and safety play, as usual, was the absolute worst in the league. Their TEs and RBs accounted for 310 yds of offense and 3 TDs and we are taking about blaming Douglas.

Evans isn't a burner, but he beat him like a drum all day on his routes and cuts.  Evans also had a few drops and Brady missed him a few times when he was wide open and Evans smoked Douglas off the line.  His stats weren't crazy, but for anyone that was watching, it looked like Evans was getting what he wanted at will.
