Smitty

Comparing NFL player impact to a team to the impact a player in the NBA can have is stupid at best....retarded at worst. (see...I can do it too)

Do we think the Patriots could've survived without Seymour...especially with all their LB injuries?

Do we think the Steelers can put together a good D-line when they don't have Hampton next year?

Do we think Dallas now sucks due to the loss of Owens at WR?

I could go on...but everyone here will admit that the Panthers are not going to win games passing the ball. And this is even carrying over to the radio announcers. They have to defend the draw play on 3rd and long every Sunday...despite knowing they'd LOVE to be able to see a QB that causes the defenses to worry about a 3rd and long pass play. It's laughable. They talk about declining the holding call and making the Saints try to convert a 3rd and 8 versus a 2nd and 18....their reason? Don't give Brees two opportunites to make plays. Oh what a difference right? They didn't convert, but it's the mindset and predictability that's the concern.

Get what you can...while you can...and don't ride someone until retirement. Let some other team be the retirement home for players.

Yeah, you remind me of that dumbass...

It doesn't make it any more right though...

I apologize the truly mentally disabled.

The fact I know you can put together a complete post and do not exhibit mental retardation IN your posts...you are proving to be a bigger retard by not "getting it".

If you're still confused...I'll just start calling you a ***.

If that offends...go watch the last episode of Southpark for a complete understanding.

Maybe if Steve Smith wasnt clearly our best player and the face of our franchise. Who else is in more avys and sigs on this site? No player has ever done more on the field of play for this team than him. Thats not debatable, only a dumbass would entertain us trading him for what wouldnt be much anyway. Tell me one pro sports franchise that has gotten rid of its best player and immediately gotten better?

Do we think the Patriots could've survived without Seymour...especially with all their LB injuries?

We aint the Patriots and JR is no Bob Kraft. Seymour wasnt the Pats best player and was not the face. Bad analogy.

Do we think the Steelers can put together a good D-line when they don't have Hampton next year?

We aint the Steelers and JR aint no Rooney. They have a good defensive mind who knows how to get the most out of their talent. Which is why they have no problem letting guys go. Tell me one other receiver on our roster who could step in or is being groomed currently to become our #1 go to guy and "face"?

Do we think Dallas now sucks due to the loss of Owens at WR?

Dallas will go as far as they went with TO, which is either missing the playoffs or a 1st round exit.

I could go on...but everyone here will admit that the Panthers are not going to win games passing the ball.

So you get a better QB, you dont get rid of your only passing threat/top 10 receiver in his prime. Explain to me what team is gonna trade us a QB for a WR or even a high draft pick for 1?

Get what you can...while you can...and don't ride someone until retirement. Let some other team be the retirement home for players.

I preached this in the offseason but our owner, our front office, our head coach felt we needed to stick with Jake and lock him in. We have to live with that decision.

g5jamz...I get what you're saying, but you cannot win in this league with only the run game. If we trade Smith, the only thing that is going to happen is fans will be pissed and Jake will look EVEN worse.

I know.

It's just you're going to have to sacrifice someone/some position to start the rebuilding process.

Pick.

I'd rather solidify the QB position...maintain running presence...maintain D...and slowly work up WR corps in a WR-heavy free agency year (not draft..cause that's looking slim).

I'll still wear my Smitty jersey...and love watching the guy...but I, as a fan, am not made or broken at the release of any one player. If that were the case, Steeler fans would not exist.

You Smitty fans take the cake. He's not the best player on this team, hasn't been for a couple of years. Right now this is Double Trouble's team. Smitty knows that and his gigantic ego can't stand it. "I deserve a better team because this one isn't centered around me". Trade his ass. You'd be amazed what it does for the locker room.

As G5 said, how's the TO removal working for the Cowboys? Can any of you Smitty guys answer that one?
