calling teddy low iq for not spiking the ball is uncalled for. he is an extremely conservative player. he doesn’t throw downfield often because he is risk averse. not all that surprising that a person with that personality type would freeze up there. you don’t want to do the wrong thing so you don’t do anything at all. this is all part of the teddy experience. these are the kinds of things you can expect from this low end starter, high end backup

Anyone blaming Teddy for not spiking it - he's 45ish yards away from the DJ play. All indications are that it was an easy catch. The clock is stopped (which I actually think surprised him). There was no reasonable reason for him to spike it there without someone telling him to.

The clock was stopped. No need to spike. If this coaching staff realizes that a controversial catch... results are different.  The play comes from the coordinator.

You can spike the ball with a stopped clock...

You do this when there is any question about the ruling of the previous play...

This is very easy to understand...

The thing is the spike should have came regardless whether they knew about the iffy catch or not. Like i said what was the offense expecting to accomplish with 8 seconds and no timeouts? Its either a spike or a quick out to the sideline for more yards but they were already well in  range so it was no need. Thats all im say on it.

Bridgewater is the ultimate player where stats don't tell the whole story. If you look at him from a stat prospective, except for the very low TDs, he appears to be a borderline elite QB. Then crap like that final drive happens and you see his main problem. He has no urgency and expects his WR and RB to always make a play where ever he throws them the ball. It is the only explanation with how bad he has been on final drives. If Bridgewater want to be here long term he need to improve that area. Coaches may not say anything to the media, but they notice. But I don't think he ever will. He reminds me a lot of Rivera, saying that he needs to change and when the season starts you realize that it is all talk.
