It was a first down with 8 seconds left, what did it matter about wasting a down? The reason Why to spike the ball was to stop them from being able to review the previous play. Why are you struggling with this so much??

They ain't going to pick a new QB unless Rhule demands it(I doubt he will). Teddy is Joe Brady's guy. They'll beef up the OL before the go for a QB.

Last years defense was much worse. Do we need to be reminded of the 49ers game? That’s with Luke, a ton of Veterans, and not a Rookie NFL coach, coaching them. 
 

This years defense isn’t good but we have a ton of young pieces, and a Rookie DC still learning which is fine, and the players are keeping us in most games. You can’t expect much better than what we have been.

It sucks, but honestly, this defense is literally not built to STOP anyone.  Their job is to simply make them work and eat up time working their way downfield and hope they make a mistake.  But, they don't lol.  So, we end up going 5 weeks forcing 1 punt lol.
