Today was not on Delhomme at all

I say we drop Jake's contract, pay him whatever. Pick up Vick from the eagles, sign him for a year, if he does good then extend the contract. With the way our team is set up for the run, and how well they run, I believe that Vick would be a perfect fit. With three different options to run it, and the ability to pass(for once) we could turn this season around.

John Fox is ruining the playing careers of several outstanding players on this team. They can't say it, but Steve Smith, DeAngelo Williams , Beason, Jeff Otah, John Kasay, Thomas Davis, Brad Hoover and many more on this team know that ths coach and his loyalty to Jake are the reason this team is 3 and 5 right now. Fox is a coward with no imagination. Offensive coordinator Jeff Davidson is either STUPIDLY loyal or very smart in that he wants to keep his job. He'll sink with the ship though. You will hear their real feelings after Fox is let go. Fox will probably be a tv analyst or defensive coordinator but Never again a head coach. He doesn't have what it takes to make necessary changes.

Most of this season, I've honestly been blaming Jake as the reason, and he's been the main and most obvious reason, but this week made me look at Fox mostly. We showed in the first 2 quarters that it really isn't always the players that are bad. Actually, we have a pretty good bunch of guys, but when the coaching staff fails, they can only do so much on the field. Sure...mistakes were made by players. It happens. It happened to the Saints. And they were behind and STILL won. This game,as most Panther games are showcase Fox,a coach that can not alter a game plan,or be imaginative when game conditions dictate changes need to be made.

It's on Delhomme because nobody trusted him to do anything. He's hurting us by not doing anything and he's hurting us by doing something.

Deangelo Williams wouldn't have fumbled on that 99 yard drive for a win if we had a QB because like any other normal NFL team we would be passing all downs to try and win in a 2 minute drive.

So yes, it's on Delhomme for being a QB and it's on the coaches for keeping him and not trusting him to do anything.

Yeah, hes suppose to be able to throw accurate most of the time, roll out if needed, scramble if needed, not giving the play away by staring down the receiver and pumpfake once in awhile. thats the skills you look for in a QB.. those are the qualifications. instead we hope every potential pass doesnt get picked and a collapsing pocket = fumble. Shouldnt have to game plan around all his weaknesses.

Its like having a porn stud starring in a movie but he cant get a boner. What the heck...

If you're worried about what your QB did two weeks ago or a month ago, you have already lost the game before the opening kick off. Either bench him or let him use all his weapons. If you leave him in but don't let him play, that's on you coach.

Blaming Delhomme for this particular game is like blaming a boxer for losing a fight after you forced him to fight with one hand.

No QB is perfect. Like I said in another thread, Brees, Brady, P. Manning, and Warner all threw at least one INT yesterday. Every QB who has ever thrown a forward pass has gone through games or sometimes even entire seasons where they have thrown a lot of INT's. That's football. Either bench Delhomme or let him play without restrictions, I can live with either decision, but I can't stand to see a coach handcuff a player. It's not fair to Delhomme, the fans, or the team.

On their 3rd to last drive, I think it was the one before they got pinned next to their own endzone on that punt .....how does Jake Delhomme take a sack on 4th down? On 4th down? How do you do that? At least throw the ball up in the air in the general direction of Smith, cuz we all know what he can do. When Delhomme can't even chuck it up hail mary style to Steve Smith anymore.....yeah he's done.

This may be the single stupidest statement ever made on this board.

Delhomme was part of the problem yesterday, but blaming him for Williams fumbling is unbelievably ignorant.

Williams was also part of the problem yesterday. Much as people want to, there's no way to credibly deny that. I still believe in him, but he alone has to take blame for his football-handling issues.

And finally .... UNTIL WE GET AN OWNER WHO WILL COME OUT AND ADDRESS THESE ISSUES TO HIS FANS INSTEAD OF SITTING ON HIS FAT RUMP DOING NOTHING, we will continue to lose.

We're not "getting a different owner"

And no, I don't want an owner or a head coach who takes fan opinions into consideration when he makes decisions, ever.

Michael Vick is never coming here. And no, it's not a good idea. Get over it.

Obviously the fumbling was on him. But when you give the ball to a RB to run the ball on a 2 minute drive and him knowing the coaches don't trust the QB.. He's going to have the mindset that it's up to him to REALLY try to do something to win the game because god knows his QB can't.

Maybe if he knew that play was just to get a few yards to breathe a little, maybe he'd hold it with 2 hands and go down. But when he knows he HAS to do the undoable he'll hold it with one hand and try and juke and jive everywhere to win the game, that's when bad things will probably happen.

Is that what happened? Nobody knows what was going on in Williams head.

Me having to explain that is sad. Obviously the person who fumbled the ball is to blame, but that wasn't the point.

Even coaches with good QBs are wary of passing close to the goal line. Add in Fox being as conservative and run-centric as he is in general and Williams being as good a back as he is, and the choice to run at that point looks pretty good.

You can't lay every single problem the team has at Delhomme's feet. There are plenty of problems that are on his head, but this one is a stretch I don't think even Mr. Fantastic could make.

Yeah, it's a huge stretch to think Delhomme sucks. God damn you're funny.

That's pretty much the extent of your insight, isn't it?

Delhomme has issues (I've commented on them plenty) but to lay every single problem at his feet is just as silly as saying none of it is his fault.

Tracing Williams fumbling back to him is just goofy.
