I know the game was basically over but 40 seconds left your down by ten on the saints 7...Why do you go for it on fourth when you need 3 anyways? At least give us a shot, I thought they were gonna kick a field goal right after the smith bomb but i was worng... So wrong they decided to run a draw play as well? WTH.

I forget where we were on the field, but I've seen other coaches go for the 3 and then try to go for the score if they get the ball back..

I am really curious how much preparation goes towards our 2 minute offense.. we never handle the clock well and rarely show much aggression...

I thought they would kick the FG too. But Gonna need an onsides kick and a TD anyway, so why not just go for the TD first? If you make it you only need an onsides kick and a few yards for the FG. This way Fox ended the suffering a little earlier...

it's a question I've heard talked about amongst commentators often when the situation comes up...

the idea being, it's 4th, take the points and instead of chancing everything on 1 play.. kick it off, let the defense get the ball back (as they did anyhow) and you get 4 more plays to go for the TD (the 4 plays for at least a 1st down until you get that TD.. you know what I mean, lol)

the onside kick is an option too, but with Brees behind the drivers seat, I'd take the chance of field position... but it's all relative...

I think it was the right move. We were on the goaline, which is the best chance for a TD. If we would have recovered the onsides kick we would be a 20 yard pass away from field goal range.

by the way you won the predict and win challenge...zod is sending you a nudey calender of kittens...congrats :D

I'm getting more and more tired of Jeff Davidson. Total screwup on the drive y'all are talking about, and I'm not sure how much weight he carries as far as the actual playcalling with Fox (no pun intended), but there was another drive in the 4th quarter, where it was 2nd 'n 8 on the NO 40, and we throw two bombs? Maybe that was just Jake's false sense of "GO FTW!", but either way you look at it, it was a fail 1. You KNOW you're down by two possessions and field goal range is just out of reach... 2. It's 3rd down, and you know you still have a play on 4th...you don't have to get the full 8 yards.

We could have gone for a long field goal, or had a 4th and short. Either would've been fine with me, but noooooo...Let's just go for the freakin' TD right now!

AND Mike Goodson gets a play on offense, what? 8 games into the season...not to mention that it's a botched screen, because Jake had about 10 seconds of eye contact with him before throwing it.

...but I digress.
