2021 potential Cap casualties

Why would we not cut Paradis in an excellent center draft. I mean you got.... Creed Humphrey, Tyler Linderbaum, Josh Myers, Trey Hill, Jimmy Morrissey, Landen Dickerson and James Empey off the top of my head, all better than Paradis right now...

Weatherly, who signed a two-year, $12.5 million deal with the Panthers in March, started the first nine games. He had no sacks, three quarterback hits and 17 tackles in playing 61 percent of the defensive snaps.

His offseason release would save the Panthers $5.95 million against the 2021 salary cap, with $2 million in dead money

Just how many O linemen you plan to draft? Resign Moton, try to get Okung on another 1 or 2 year deal, keep Paradis and draft a Guard in rounds 2 or 3.

It doesn't sound like Okung is in the plans. Moton, Miller and Daley should be, but it's not guaranteed they can keep Moton.

If we can't do better than Paradis though, Oy.

3 in rounds 2-5, 1 in round 7, and some udfa's

There are often very talented IOL that can flex to guard and then transition inside to center when Paradis is gone. I do think Paradis has played better, but by no means is a long-term answer. I am also of the belief that if we surrounded him with more talent with at least one better guard and a consistent set of OTs, he would be better. 

We really need to figure out if Daley, Larsen, Miller, and Little are part of the future moving forward, or just depth. Personally, I think Larsen and Daley could be long-term starters. Reed def is not.

The team is a looooong way form being stable.

I cheated during the year and looked ahead. Roughly need 26 players with the expected cuts... If you keep the draft picks, add in 3 UDFAs, and tender some FAs it cuts the number in half. 

 

 

Neither need to be extended. You don't kick the can down the road on a rebuild.

Paradis isn't gone next year simply because we have no one to replace him with. Now Daley and Especially Little will probably be performance cuts if we draft right. Larson isn't a long term starter by a long shot. If he was we would have never paid Paradis. The line needs a complete rebuild besides Moton and unfortunately Paradis stays simply because he's not terrible.
