CMC update - Could play next Sunday

Following a second opinion on his injured shoulder, #Panthers RB Christian McCaffrey has a realistic chance to play next week, sources say. He’s out this week and will be monitored closely. But there is hope that it’s just a one week absence and he can play vs the #Lions.

I could definitely be wrong about this, but I get the impression he could play this week if we really wanted/needed him to.

How is the injury bad enough that it merits a second opinion but not so bad he'd only miss a week?

Sounds to me like Rhule/Hurney were trying to put him back on COVID-19 DTR list and he said nah.

AC joints can feel better in a few days but take weeks to heal and some need surgery. His must be mild but it could take a little more time to heal.

Agreed. This is not a playoff team. No reason to put more wear and tear on the team’s best player who is already battling various injuries. Heal up and be ready for next year.

It should be obvious I wasn't serious about him being soft, but I think its funny how often that phrase is used for other players who get injured after signing a big contract and no one bats an eye.
