Are we content with what we're getting from Derrick Brown

Derek Brown wasn't drafted to be KK.  That's not his game.  He's the guy who DEMANDS double teams on every play if you want to hold the LOS.  Thus freeing up every other defensive lineman to win their one on ones and attack the ball.

We really didn't appreciate what Star did for us until after the fact.  Let's not make that same mistake with Derek Brown.

Yup, he's been a fine and growing piece for us, he'll be a force in a year or 2 and is a foundation that allows for burns and YGM to pin their ears back and go after the QB.  Just because someone doesn't pop off the screen doesn't mean he's not doing great.

Brown shows promise in the run game. It was his defining traits we knew he was country strong and would be good to go there. But I was solid on the promise he would develope a pass rush repertoire and would be an asset there. We have seen even on passing downs brown comes out and they like to sub in guys.

Bahahahahaha, the man is 6'5'' / 326 lbs, what the heck did you expect him to run, he's a power player, push the pocket which he has considering THERE'S NO ONE ON THE INTERIOR TO REALLY RESPECT ASIDE FROM HIM, and he's been flashing in the run game as he's ranked fairly high in the NFL, not just versus rookies in TFL. 

Gross-Matos was flashing but got hurt, and Chinn he's exceeded 31 other GM / Coaches expectations, as he was day 1 what Simmons is supposed to be. 

Burns is gold, and if Brown, and Gross-Matos continue to trend we will have a great DL, and a pick / veteran depth as we move forward and damn, we're cooking again!

No real off season with proper weight and strength training to adapt to the NFL and the higher level of competition it brings...and he's producing like a solid veteran NT.  I think he's doing just fine. for his first 9 games of his career.

Go look up dontari poe's combine. The fact he's big doesn't mean he can't be athletic for his size or a superior athlete which is the whole point. Do you want want a pure nose as a top ten draft pick. My answer is no. This is a passing league and while stoping the run is important the elite run stoppers currently in this league dont go in the top 10. Unless they also are pass rushers. The space eaters come off the board later.
