And to the OP, you're right. There's so much dumbassery on these boards that a lot of intelligent posters have just gotten fed up and left. It's too bad that the history is gone, because you could go back and see for yourself how the conversation has degraded around here.

Good to see you haven't lumped yourself in that category :D

Davidson gave Jake many chances to prove himself the beginning of this year. Jake failed on each of those chances resulting in 13 INTs. Jake has proven that we can't trust him to throw it down the field. Davidson built a game plan to compensate for Jake by feeding our RBs. And it was a good plan. We almost beat the best team in the NFL. What more do you want Davidson to do with an inept QB such as Jake? If he called more plays downfield, Im sure there would've been at least 2 INTs. Then you would continue praising Henning while bashing Davidson like you've kept doing ever since Davidson was hired.

Though I must admit I am not happy with Davidson, you do have a valid point. I will lay off of him for now as until we get a QB who can play the damn game correctly it is hard to judge what Davidson is really capable of as a coordinator. Despite that though I am disappointed that he couldn't get creative enough to get us a win in this game.

Unfortunately he didn't stick with that plan. Jake was 4 of 5 the first half when the Panthers dominated. Passed 25 times in the second half when we got hammered.

Delhomme is now 13-31 when he throws 30 passes or more, while he is 45-8 when he throws 29 passes or fewer.

You really fit the profile of this thread. Davidson is the one that took a basic game-managing QB and had him throw bombs in the first quarter and dialed up 30+ passing plays per game for a guy who's never been able to do that. You work with what you have, and he chose to treat an old sedan like a race car. The biggest surprise out of all of this mess is that Jake still has an ego at all, he's been asked to do what he can't and has to deal with the results himself.

Good to see you haven't lumped yourself in that category :D

Of course not, but I know smart people when I see them. I know dumbasses too. (See above... ;) )

You people can write all the eloquently worded post you like blaming Davidson......but it is as simple as you work with what you have, and he doesn't have a QB.

His name is Davidson..........not God. Plain and simple folks. Give him a QB with any ability, and I bet you the farm it's a different game plan. Fox doesn't help either.

What has Davidson done that has you thinking he's good?

Never said I thought he was good, but when your hands are tied, look for the sharpest piece of glass is all I'm saying.

And you can't possibly believe if we had a different QB with any ability......the game planning wouldn't be different.....NO WAY.

Well, what I'm saying is that Jake has done pretty well for us for years, and Davidson hasn't. This is his third year, and his second with Jake. In his first year he sucked out loud with our quarterback carousel, last year he discovered a running game and rode it to a 12-4 record, and then in the playoff game and earlier this year he decided to become pass-happy with a quarterback who's never, ever been able to do that.

If it's so obvious to everyone on this board that Jake is terrible, why would you defend a guy who decided to stake the entire offense on him instead of on his running backs for the first three games this year?

A good OC can win even without a solid QB. Just ask Miami...

I think the leash was too short on delhomme yesterday... a mediocre passing game would have won it. Not to stick up for jake's shortcomings, but he was pissed, and you know why. If he feels he has got "it back", maybe a little, then let him sling the ball a few more times. he did not look that bad yesterday, imo. at this rate, our runningbacks are gonna be tore up at seasons end. with playoff hopes on life support, we need to throw the ball more, now than ever, only if he think he has got his game back.

First of all, if you can't see that most of the problem is with Fox sticking his neck out so damn far for Jake, that he is bound and determined to try and save his own ass and Jake's.......I have no clue what to tell you. That is as obvious as the day is long.

He has defended him, stuck, stuck, stuck, and even backed up and slung it against the wall to see if it would stick with Jake. He has made his bed, and he can now lay in it.....that is what THAT is about.

All coaching removed except Fox, but we see the same sh!t year after year. Doesn't take a microscope to see what the problem is with a sympathetic, pathetic, stubborn ass coach.

Blame who you want, but the writing has been on the walls here for years.

I hope Fox and Jake enjoy their vacations together.

Sean Payton shows he can adjust...

We know that's not Fox's forte... Payton adjusted in the Miami game...he adjusted in the Panthers game. Fox, and his coaches, have a game plan they develop during the week and they'll be damned if they have to adjust mid-game.

I wonder if that's the same 3-5 Miami team that plays in the NFL.

Unless of course 3-5 = winning.

I agree. Brees, Brady, Warner, and Peyton Manning all threw at least one INT yesterday. It happens to every QB that is playing right now and every QB that ever will play in the NFL, and almost every one of them will go through a slump at some point in their careers. You still have to let them play though.
