Im not saying I havent been pissed after Jake f**ked off some games for us but when any qb is throwing nice passes and in a rhythm you keep it goin. Jake has had alot of horrible games cause of throwing so much but when we actually needed to throw on 3rd and long the right decisions werent being made no team no matter how good their run game is should be running it down 10 with a minute left in the 4th qtr sorry but it shouldn't happen.

lol So you'd want Jake to throw 3 INTs and not give us a shot in hell of winning rather than just feeding our run game that this team is built on? If that happened, we wouldnt have had more than 3 points. Give me a break.

We all know Jake's not the answer. (except Fox that is)

If they are so afraid of Jake's passing then they should give someone else a shot. They can had the ball off as good as Jake.

The Saints had as many as NINE people in the box at times..and we STILL ran it on 3rd down....If they mistrust Delhomme that badly...then get someone else in there..Moore can hand the ball off just as well as Delhomme can.
they won't ever do that.

they are too emotionally tied to jake. doesn't' matter that he can't do the job well anymore, he's their guy.

nice ass, but back to topic.i dont understand it, how can you say he is the best option we have at qb, but than gameplan like he isn't? big contridiction, i am tired of this coaching staff(besides meeks)it wasn't all jake this week but coaching played a major role into losing this game.conservative football will never win.

I'mma have to agree with AK on this one.

I don't like Jake. I haven't liked Jake for the past 2 years. But, all this game showed me was that John Fox needs to be fired...We can talk about how much Jake sucks all day, but I think the most alarming thing is that Fox/Davidson has NO faith in Jake now. What is the point in backing him up and naming him the starter if we're not going to treat him as a QB. They babied Jake this WHOLE game. If John Fox REALLY believed in Jake, we would have tried to pass it downfield more. I'm sorry, but this gameplan is not going to beat good NFL teams. I think D-Will only got 4 touches in the 2nd half...nuff said.

I think the fact that our coaches were afraid to let Jake win the game for us lost us the game.

Also- I think we shot ourselves in the foot today with Stewart. I KNOW he is a GOOD RB, but Williams was damn hot.

Stewart averaged only 2 yards per carry (i believe) while Williams was ripping the Saints apart.

His fumble on the goal line was the deciding factor in the game, but we should have never been in that situation to begin with.

We played with swagger in the 1st half- we played scared in the 2nd.

This one is on the coaches. I think Davidson needs to rethink what he is doing, and if they are going to let Delhomme play they need to let him take more shots down the field.

I think you could tell Delhomme was getting frustrated with the ultra conservative play calling. And INT's or Not- I DONT BLAME HIM..

7 minute 70 yard drives wont win games when you only get 3 points.

EXACTELY!!!! Fox/Hurney have failed miserably at getting a QB of the future on the roster and its killing them this season. I have been a Jake supporter for years until this season. He has been totally unable to hit open WR's or throw a deep ball and its killing this team. Sadly there is no better option on the roster and again that is Fox/Hurney's fault. They also panicked and put McCown on IR.

The problem was settling for a field goal on one of those drives (I forget which one). I'd rather have the 7 than the 3, seeing as (at that point in the game) it was likely for the Saints to score anyway. So, just get the ball back again, don't turn it over, and get down the field to match a Saint's score.

To be honest, what really lost the game was 2-3 dropped passes (no, not D-Will's). That one where Smith slipped and the one Jarrett didn't get on the dive really hurt those respective drives. People don't really look at those plays, but that's where the losing started.

Jake is handicapping the offense. We could truthfully be so much better if we just had QB play that was at least respectable to a defense. We straight up beat the saints down in the first half. They stacked 8 and 9 in the box and they still couldn't stop the run. We scored out of shear superior personnel.

But honestly how can we win if run the ball every play? Which is basically what we did. We wasted so many 2nd downs today because of up the middle no gainers today when Jake should have been throwing the ball. But we can't trust Jake so Jake can't throw. 13 INT= no faith. It is so obvious that QB is the problem here I don't see how anyone can deny it. Its time for a QB change, it doesn't matter if Moore is better than Delhomme or not, we need a change. IF anything Moore will play differently and at least give defenses something to adjust to. But we can't keep doing this crap week in and week out, there is no point and no upside to stay with Jake.

:iagree:

Just to be clear - Jake was not the reason was lost to the Saints. I actually think Jake played on of the better games this season yesterday. What killed us was settling for FGs (two unsuccessful drives - one inside the red zone in the 2nd qtr after the Gamble INT and another after the 10 minute drive in the 3rd), lack of execution and some questionable playcalling down the strectch is what did us in against the Saints. We score 6 on each of those drives, and the outcome would've been totally different.

However, what OBC posted makes alot of sense. Jake's limitations are seriously handicapping our offensive potential. The offensive playcalling has to be designed in a way to keep Jake from losing games for us. This problem is magnified by the lack of legitimate WR option to Smith. Without the threat of a respectable passing game, we become one-dimensional and predictable. Unfortunately, the organization made a long-term financial commitment to Delhomme and we don't have adequate depth/talent behind him at this point, so Fox & Co. have no choice but to lay in the bed they've made. The offense playcaling will continue to be a source of frustration until someone in the Panthers' organization wises up and fixes the QB situation in the coming offseasons.
