^^^I agree there is so much hate for Jake that even when he is not the problem he is always gonna get the blame if he would have had a 400 yd game and we would have lost most fans would have had their dream game from Jake. But the thing that has me pissed is that someone blamed Jake for the Williams fumble when he clearly ran for a whole yard untouched and fumbled, probably from the amount of carries he had.

You had the leagues leader in interceptions thrown going up against the league leader in interceptions. The team didnt want to gamble with Delhomme on 3rd downs.

I definitely see the logic there, but our best drives were when Jake was throwing the ball and then all the sudden Davidson went to running the ball and lacked all creativity in play calling. It was then the drive(s) stalled and we had to resort to a FG.

The plays where we had 3rd and long, I agree... it was the play calling and false starts that put us in those 3rd and longs. by that time, I would have called a draw play or something conservative as well.

Still amazed that I see the smoke route. and to Jarrett? WTF?

lol So you'd want Jake to throw 3 INTs and not give us a shot in hell of winning rather than just feeding our run game that this team is built on? If that happened, we wouldnt have had more than 3 points. Give me a break.

Nope- thats not what I am saying at all.

Ride your running game- HELL YES!!!!

But there were times when they were stacking the box and showing blitz and we still ran the ball. But thats not it, its just the fact that when we had the chance to let Jake make some big plays they didnt give him the ball.

We did a good job a couple times on the screen, but we shot ourselves in the foot with being too conservative-- AGAIN....

Yeah Smith had that "fire" today. where was the end around? or the Flea flicker?

How about that throw to Jarrett by Delhomme downfield that was PERFECT and Jarrett let it go right through his hands.... :(

I have never thought this was too hard of a concept to understand, but by all means, it must be....

I wouldn't even go that far to use a flea flicker or end around...

Jake did a good job of getting the ball to people on a few drives and the drive only stalled when Davidson called a smoke route to Jarret (wtf?) or resorted back to nothing but run plays... all I kept saying was mix it up. Ride the running game, but Davidson lost this game for us, IMO... (also, false starts)

Yeah Jake is the league leader in interceptions no argument there but do you think that maybe since he is a Nfl Qb that just maybe a good game might be coming he way. Cause he was in a horrible slump for our team, but today and last week he did what he was asked and I believe was capable of more. I'm not one of those fans hoping that Delhomme asses up, it hurts our team and looks bad. Earlier on Nfl.com some fan made the statement they hope we lose every one of the rest of our games so we can get a new qb and coach and I said that won't get us a better 2nd round pick. We'll still would have payed Peppers and Delhomme a lot of money and we are at the bottom of the Nfl. So what good comes out of that. If we don't make the playoffs which is highly likely all the chips will fall in order but for people looking for someone to blame it ain't Jake. It wasn't this week and wasn't last week.

Davidson called a horrible game. He did good at times, and most of that was when he let Delhomme throw the ball. I think this contradicts you're statement. On those same drives, he killed the drives by turning back to the run more than needed.

3 straight runs will not be successful. THe smoke route on key downs, is not effective. It's late, but there were other examples where Davidson f**ked up drives.

again, the most successful drives we had was when he let Delhomme throw the ball. Then he stopped and we had to resort to FGs..

HORRIBLE play calling.

You dont call a smoke route to Jarrett on a 3rd and 5 when Jarrett is clutch on a slant in that situation.

If you want to be creative call a end a round, or screen with a defense playing that aggressive.

I agree--

YES- JAKE HAD BEEN HORRIBLE- AND SUCKED AS A QB AT TIMES THIS SEASON-

But DAMN-- you cant just sweep him under the rug and expect 15 passes a game to win in the NFL.

DUMB DUMB DUMB

Agreed. I'm glad to see some fans that actually watch games with an intelligent point of view and not negativity when it isn't warranted and put blame where it needs to be. Where are all the get rid of Peppers threads today. Hell he didn't even get off the bus but were talking about Delhomme who had a lot of nice throws and threw for over 200 yds with no picks.

yeah- the guy who is "killing our season" has 0 picks in 2 games. But dont mention that the coaches have his ass locked up in Jail.

We shown that we are 50% beating teams relying on the run.

This means that they have to find the play action pass once again.

What ever happened to Steve Smith? i ONCE HEARD he was a hell of a football player...

Read 52's post.

You dont beat the Saints (400+ yards a game) by only passing 15 times a game.

I would have rather lost the game with Jake throwing 3 INT's trying to score TD's than what happened today.

A loss is a loss- Today we held OURSELVES back...

No one to blame but the coaches.

I call BS on that! Because then we would have gotten our asses kicked for sure then.
