I keep feeling like we are missing something with Bonnafon like he should be on the gameday roster every week. I feel like there is some extreme talent there that we are not realizing in terms of almost all pro talent. There is something about him that looks like the potential for lightning. I know we have CMC but I swear I get a great feeling about Bonnafon that he is the future just as much as CMC is at the position. Mike Davis of course as well is a valuable piece but just something about Reggie that gives me so much hope. In his very limited opportunities I feel like he has almost always risen to the challenge and there is so much more to be seen of him.

I have a lot more faith in this staff than the last staff. At this point, if Bonnafon is largely a PS/depth guy, I think we know what he is.

We have seen a bunch of these guys so far.

It's amazing how much a player can be overhyped after 1 game. We have seen it over and over here. People thought Delaire was the the next Peppers. Everyone is acting like Sam Franklin is the new Luke Kuechly. Let's slow our roll

This is why I haven't said anything about Larkin. He had exactly one game that he looked really good in and hasn't really looked good since. Same with Weatherly, he was doing great at sealing the edge and providing great run stuffing and then just decided to not to as well. I waited a few games before I started hyping Chinn up and I would hope y'all would do the same with Franklin.

To me when he is on the field he just looks like lightning waiting to strike. I would just love to see him given a fair shake in some games to see. He has looked good anytime given an opportunity so far at least but yes i agree this staff seems way more intuitive and with a fully functioning brain than the last staff.

I trust the staff on this one. He probably just isn't an NFL caliber guy.

His skill set is too close to McCaffery's. CMC is on a whole nother level though so when he is healthy it's hard to find a role for Bonnafon. He's a good depth piece to have though.

If his skill set is so "close to McCaffery's" let's give him a lot of run now and see how close it really is.

If it's as close as you suggest then we can keep Reggie & Mike and trade CMC for multiple assets while simultaneously unburdening ourselves from a contract that will prove to be extremely unfriendly to the team -- just a matter of when.

...he is mostly extremely durable and tough as can be.

I do still worry though of the contract you speak of and sometimes do wonder if a running back by committee like a Davis and Bonnafon and whoever else would be better.

I do know though that I strongly feel Bonnafon needs many more carries to see what we may have in him...

He's only in his 4th season!  He's definitely tough but it's way too early to determine if he is "durable".  CMC is a class act but "durability" for RB's is determined in years 5-10.

Again, awesome guy, hopefully he outperforms his contract but the odds sure seem low.

Agreed on Reggie (and Davis).  Giving them more run will only make CMC more valuable -- whether it's to the Panthers, or someone else.
